if you can't find a good home, there are places like Reboot that will give you a tax receipt for it if you donate it to them. They recycle/refurbish/etc computers for use in the community. I donated a couple of old PCs to them last year.

edit: didn't see Ronin's answer. :)

edit2: anyone want to buy a 19" crt?

It's yers for the taking. I will bring it down to the shop tomorrow..you can pick it up any time you like. I can't help but wonder whatmight be on the harddrive. It used to be Steevo's from Sum 41.
Asian alcohol eh? I was drinking at a buddy's place a number of years ago and he had this bottle of Chinese booze. There was not a lick of English on the label but it had a gutted lizard fermenting in the bottle. We called it "Lizard Juice" We drank it but then worried that the label might say something like "for decoration only"

gokfei 06-22-06 07:51 AM

Anyone know of a good place to buy front headlights?

Headlights for seeing with...or being seen? I love the MEC Turtle lights for basic blinky style. they are like $4.

that's probably as bad as it sounds. i had blood sausage when i was in scotland. i thought it was tasty before i found out what it was (tasted like liverwurst), a glorified scab.

STEEKER 06-22-06 08:47 AM

I used to love gnawing on roasted pig's feet while playing black jack down there but now I am older wiser and eat normal stuff. Blood sausage is great and HAGGIS is top's

like KD and canned salmon with katsup?

i can only understand scottish "food" in the context of it tasting good only after a night at the pub. just about every item for sale in every take out place in the nation is breaded and deep fried, basically just differnt shapes of beige stuff. deep fried sausage? check. fried toast? check. Deep friend minced SPAM patties (what they call a hamburger)? check. deep fried chocolate bars? check. there is a reason i gained 30+lbs after living there for a few months....

And I remember trying really hard to stop laughing and I couldn't bear to tell you that what you won didn't resemble ANYTHING of a bike.

Heheh, that would be pretty funny; it would be neat to BBQ a dog while riding around though ;)

Yeah, the auction was just posted and there was no pic, just a description and a decent BIN for the frame, an uncut Profile Design carbon fork, a Weyless carbon seat-post, a track chain and a headset, so I pulled the trigger and the seller is sending it USPS so I might even dodge the duties on it, we shall see. The description of the sloping top-tube got me thinking it might be a Pulse, that was why I asked about yours, but I think I'll be happy either way, I have a soft spot for black GTs ;) :D

sr20det 06-22-06 09:04 AM

if they do charge you customs, just tell them its a GT frame and it was made in the US.
but they can still charge you tax of declared value.

STEEKER 06-22-06 09:06 AM

So does Cavernmech have two Campy rims for sale ********************???

Hey, great tip, I didn't think of that. Thanks.

jeremywhitehorn 06-22-06 09:09 AM

should probably just be gst/pst on the delcared value plus a $5 "customs fee" ie paying the posties for opening the box...

somnambulant 06-22-06 09:39 AM

jeremy: you coming out tonight? beer? :)
