it looks like the george brown bookstore offer a discount of about that amount on the new models. still a bit rich for my blood, so pen and paper it may be. just bought a new camera and promised that i'd be a good boy.

operator 06-21-06 06:19 PM

Oh. You're going to use a laptop to take notes? Pen and paper... for the win. That or a tablet pc. Most of the kids with laptops just end up playing games on them in class.

TRaffic Jammer 06-21-06 06:21 PM

Go to class with RAM stick MP3 player with a mic. Record them and listen to lectures in your sleep. Transcribing the notes to text also gives an extra boost of retention. Pen and paper for diagrams, new frame geometries and bike pimping sketches.

operator 06-21-06 06:23 PM

You can use em to roll in a pinch as well

to be honest the lecture part is a small portion of the course. basically the chef shows you 2-3 recepies one day then you pracitce them for the rest of the week and are graded at the end of the week. so it's more for keeping a record of recepies and such. transcription; good point there and it works for abstract though like a philosphy lecture but i think this is more of a learn by doing thing. who knows, it's just an idea at the moment. you can't take your notes into the kitchen anyway...

TRaffic Jammer 06-21-06 06:58 PM

mm the kitchen ...

sr2d0t, what size is the GT you have posted in the picture thread? Is the GTB aluminium? I ask cuz I just snagged that mystery GT on eBay and the seller didn't have a pic but said that the frame is aluminium and that the top tube slopes towards the headtube, it sounds like it might be a GTB. Total impulse buy and I guess the old saying is true, red wine and eBay don't mix ;)

Although I really don't do much any more. Good ole days of boot disks and 486's to play dos games are over. Windows 3.1 was also teh bomb. I remember doing dialup into my isps bbs to chat and loading up hotmail on IE 3 or 2 on a 256 colour only capable video card.

Yeah!

On the new intel macs you can run Windows XP with a program called boot camp.

No emulation, it runs full speed.

Two of my friends have MacBook Pros.

So now you can buy PC games and play them on your Mac :).

Slient Hill, Doom III whatever, and it runs smooooth

dude that AWESOME. *just measured. 54 seat-tube, 55 TT.*
yea. its 7005 aluminum. and the welds are like boogers.
but my top tube doesn't slope anywhere. so yea, it could be a GTB.
as long as it was cheap :)

btw, anyone doing anything in the afternoon before CV? I don't want to bust out comic books in the park all afternoon.

Cross yer fingers and hope its a Pulse. Look very carefully on the down tube just below the head tube for an Easton stamp in the tube. If its there it is a Pulse and one hell of a bike.

cavernmech 06-22-06 07:09 AM

So I determined that the Mac I have is a really old model. No USB. Thanks for the links. It is a "Kanga" model and was discontinued in 98'. Anyone know of an old Mac's home where it will get the care it needs? Seriously tho...I don't have the knowledge or patience to deal with a Mac this old. Anyone use it? Freebie..Freebie!!

Hey Keith, I'll take it off your hands. I'll trade it for some Asian alcohol. Yeah?

:D

sr20det 06-22-06 07:27 AM

Op: Yea I'm riding down.

Jet S: I swear I had the CRAZIEST dream last night. I dreamed that I saw your ebay auction and saw a picture of your mysterious GT. And It was a bunch of pipes welded together and the whole mess converged together at the BB which was a propane tank. And I remember trying really hard to stop laughing and I couldn't bear to tell you that what you won didn't resemble ANYTHING of a bike.
