EDIT: do you guys know who's working behind the counter on mondays? actually there seems to be a plethora of attractive women working there so any day is good for eye candy. my appologies to 32flavours for the sexist remarks... 1:00 works for me. Be there or be square. |

I am now going out to buy a new helmet. Ride safe out there, folks. I also had some folks over for a BBQ no bikes but had a cool rocket that kept the kids happy & the adults. I did get on the bike today & had a slow mo fall = sore elbow. Ha Ha Cheers all |
Project bike help needed... so I've got the big bits (frame, fork, wheels, hs, bb) but i'm still in need of a decent crank, stem and seat post. I didn't get a chance to hit the swap today but figured my fellow forum members may have some suggestions on where i can find these items without breaking the bank. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

I would like to mention that it's a simply splendid evening for a ride on the Gardiner. If you have the time to get out for a ride within the next 5 hours or so it comes highly recommended. (Eastbound only, Westbound has already re-opened)

I'm just signing on now. Yeah I was with Toby last night and he seemed to be fine. He does have a nasty bit of road rash on his shoulder and his wrist is kind of sore. He had a tensor bandage on it today. As for last night him and I went to Dance Cave which was amazing as expected. Then while riding south on Bathurst at like 3:00am we heard live music coming out of this house so we went in and "crashed" the party. We got free beer and met some girl who had a flying v shaped ukulele. Her and I jammed ukulele style. Then after all of this it turned out I actually knew the dude who lived there/whose birthday it was. He's a total dickbag not that that's relevent to the story... Great night!!!
Stephen: thanks for a great bbq! Dom: We're your real insurance. Just give us the guy's address who hit you and we'll go kick his ass. On a more serious note I hope you're okay. |
That is some whack **** dan - ownage.

I'm going to have to go by and check out Polly's someday, it's right around the corner from me (but the Tango palace keeps pulling me the other direction). For parts, Parts Unknown has some although often limited in road parts and Bikes on Wheels sometimes has stuff. CL is a good option as people get rid of their stuff. Nice 56 cm Gios on CL http://toronto.craigslist.org/bik/316933678.html I also have a variety of stuff, so let us know sizes etc. and we'll see what springs forth from the tickle trunk. |

No result for Wes! That sucks a$$...Dave didn't get a result either. Strange. Whats the point in chip timing if they are gonna miss ya? I ended up 48th out of 111 in my group...not bad for my terribly out of shape body. Frozen peas and Advil for my achin' knees FTW. Bradyn and I are gonna start doing one of the weekly mtn. bike series...prolly Tues or Wed nights...if anyone is interested contact me.

I did a 100km ride to my parents and back yesterday. About 65 km in, my knee started to hurt a little. I have new pedals, and I know part of the issue is the cleat position. Last time this happened the front left of my knee cap hurt.
After moving the cleat, that's no longer an issue. But now the back left 'ligament thing' behind my knee hurts. Does anyone have any ideas? |
go for a proper bike fitting? :) my experience is that trying to fit yourself on a bike is way harder than having another set of eyes that's able to look at your position from a bit of a distance. I know Cycle Therapy does fittings (but that may be more for figuring out frame sizing, correct me if I'm wrong Mike), and I've heard great things about the fittings at EnduroSport.
|
I don't think it's fit, since I did 10 000km last summer on the same bike same fit. the only thing that changed is going from mountain bike pedals to road bike pedals. Way less float, so I think that's the issue.
I did talk to a lawyer at my firm who used to be a nurse. He suggested that it's likely just a lot more stress on the outside of my knee because of how my foot was positioned all day. I did move my cleat a little closer to centre, so hopefully that will be the solution. |
