I just pulled out my Cargo mountain bike out ,wiped it down and oiled the chain took it for a boot around the street , W:eek: W what a change from the Fixed Gear soo much fun flying off curbs and really freaky with the big tires. I really look forward to riding the dirt trails with Cavernmech and Trafficjammer once the back is fixed .. any takers on the lake front trail east**********?

Lake front trail? Do we have a flatish dirt trail that we can whip along? I like honking along the rolling stuff, not a huge climb and descend rider.
|
There isn't a whole lot of reason to use track drops in the city. Or at least, I haven't found them.
I vote we just cut out the inane bull****. *gasp* |

Also: I know this has been brought up several times before, but that's part of the reason why I'm posting again. I could never figure out what the best choice was. Can someone tell me the "best" place to get a frame + fork powdercoated? I don't want to have to deal with stripping it myself. This is for my old mountain bike, which I'm considering turning into a SS (potentially flip-flop) bike for winter/utility use since it has full rack/fender eyelets, etc. |

I wasn't too impressed with some of the stuff i've seen coming back from spectrum powdercoats. They seemed kind of dulll.

edit: now that I've said it, I'll get hit on the ride home tonight, guaranteed ;) Powdercoaters by the airport.... I called and you would need to strip the frame http://www.colourificcoatings.com/default.htm http://www.ctidirectory.com/Search/p...d_code=1682850 |

Great. Thanks for the info, guys! I'm more interested in durability than pure sexiness since this is going to be more of a utilitarian bike (and occasional fun double-track / path bomber).

Hey guys, screw getting custom Toronto bike jerseys, lets just agree to all buy a complete pro team kit and we can ride in a paceline around town and then have a podium celebration wherever we go.

BTW, are there any shops that sell these chain tensioners, or anything similar that serves the same purpose? http://img488.imageshack.us/img488/1682/mksctb1pw.jpg |

edit- all the same team kit for uber dorkiness or all different teams on the tour for inside bike joke uber dorkiness |
Naww, the people who come in last can be the podiums, the youngest of us are gonna win |
I dig the Gerolsteiner, Lampre and Credit Agricole team kits this year... Good thing Milram hasn't been up at the front too much or I'd confuse them with Gerolsteiner. I think the team kits are usually over 200USD though so its pretty steep to dress up like superman. I found a Gerolsteiner kit on sale for 190USD but that included hat gloves socks and water bottle as well. I actually asked my mum to pick me up a white TDF jersey when the tour gets to paris... I was thinking either that or the green jersey but I'm not much of a sprinter so...
Still I would like a wool jersey. Someone get on the ordering and I'll fork over the bucks edit: I just found a bunch of pro team kits (jersey, shorts, hat, socks, gloves) for around 140 bucks canadian... not bad at all... might actually consider it as I need another set of bike clothes and like to look ridiculous. |
I did the lake trail out to Whitby and am glad I took the mountain bike, the trail for Fixed Gear would not be good in some parts (but old school ballsy) lot's of woods/ cliff trails/gravel trails/ pretty awesome ride and I did the Rouge Valley highway 2 run comming back and made it out of the valley with out stopping. me thinks I'll want a cross bike like Kieths to add to the clan. took four hours to do the trip
|
that is a steep climb here is a link http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=280825

I got them on ebay sold them on ebay shortly after! They come up a lot on there. Cheers oh they were 42cm |
