ppposeur!

ps. "if weather != raining" :P
no!

Back to seriousness: Has anyone made their own 10/20w Dual Halogen setup with Nimh batteries? Would it be cheaper just to purchase a system from niterider or light & motion? Thoughts?

Need something like 3-4 hour runtime with both on.

somnambulant 08-27-06 01:07 PM

lovely riding today.. too bad y'alls are *******. ;)

jeremywhitehorn 08-27-06 02:36 PM

hey, we did indeed ride today. me and darkmother, and one guy from the toronto fixed group. not 100k, but some nasty hill work instead. a little rain but that's okay. and yes, somnambulant, i was there a little before 10, but we hung around until about 10:30 because no, we never do things on time.

operator 08-27-06 04:46 PM

I wussed out :|

Edit: operator > Somnambulant

TRaffic Jammer 08-27-06 04:54 PM

jeremywhitehorn 08-27-06 05:59 PM

don't blame anyone for wussing out; it was soggy and muggy out there. i haven't ridden in a month so i had to get out there...

Halloween alleycat costume ideas. Criteria: good costume, [edit] no nudity, [/edit] must not hinder riding ability. Go.

That paint job costs more than any of you are prepared to pay.

With that kind of wattage/runtime you are gonna need a really good battery. For the time it would take and the potential hassle getting the right battery I would just buy complete. What do you need 30 watts total for anyway? I had 20 watts on the trail in the 24 hour and had more than enough to see in the pitch black. Some of the new systems use a smaller wattage but have a higher candlepower output. I would suggest the NiteRider Moab...12 and 13.5 watt lights....8 hours runtime on full burn....a bargain at $1100.

You can have the matching shoes too if you like. They are not SPD tho.

Yessah, I was planning to do some road rides on completely unlighted streets in the middle of the night. Something like 30kph-35kph must be able to see where i'm going. Maybe 10w/20w with a narrow beam instead? Hmm.

I was hellbent on getting 2x 10w or 2x 15w ... something like that. Has to be dual. http://www.batteryspace.com/index.as...S&Category=499

HID is teh $$.

You don't need really high power to ride on pavement. I would think even 2 x 10W halegen would be lots. Beam pattern is important, plus you can get tons more light out of halegen bulbs if you overvolt them, but bulb life suffers. Make sure you get something with a true smart charger.

I thought it was like a Rorschach of some type. :D
I have a burning building costume in the basement, complete with Superman flying to the rescue. I don't know how ridable it would be though, might need some renovation. It's foam though, could act as padding during alleycat vector crossing.

rob, strap 50 of these to each of your fork legs. it'd be a b!tch turning them all on though.
