There's a few vietnamese restaurants in the general area. Hello Saigon is on Spadina a couple doors South of Nassau.

I use Michelin tire levers exclusively. I have a couple in my home tool box that I have had for over 15 years. If you are having lots of trouble mounting tires it is more often than not a case of having a tire bead set before you get the tire completely on. Once you have got the tire to the tight stage let a bit of air out of the tube and massage the tire so the bead is sucked into the rim well. This usually gives you some slack to get the tire on. 90% of the tires I mount I can get on without tire levers by using this technique.

Let me guess.....Continental tires?

I usually don't like park tools, but I do like their tire levers. They are the best I've tried so far-better than the quick stik.

I just use the super crappy wedge shaped handles of my park multi-tool but most of the time I can mount my tires fine withour a lever. My buddy has some super heavy duty steel ones that probably work well but I would not like to be jamming steel tools into my aluminum rims if I could help it.

Ambrosio rims with wire beed contis come to mind. You might want to also try the following which has worked for me:

-mount as much of the tire as possible
-deflate as much as possible as was suggested
-when you get to that last bit that's hard to get on even with tire levers do this next step directly opposite
- pinch the tire with both thumbs and draw them along the sidewall in opposite directions (contrary motion for all you piano players) in an effort to stretch the tire in hopes of creating more slack
- try the lever again
*others have used soapy water OR talcum powder (but then your wheels smell like a baby's bum)

you're just not man enough.
I find using the palm of your hand instead of your fingers helps out a LOT.
and i've broken one of boro's parks levers before. wooga wooga!

Well ok, $15 later new tube, lever and rim tape and I think i'm good to go - I hope. I picked up those blue park tool levers, let's hope they don't let me down.

It was really frustrating having to take the packed Viva back because I ran out of materials to repair my flats/rim tape. Felt so incompetent.

Velodrome i would love to go back any weekend would be fine for me i'll fit it in, just not a weekday/night. So if both drivers are down and could come up with a coordinated date I’d love to. (Easy for me to say eh!) Also I’d be happy to pitch in to hook up the guy there for his time. As well as our gas.

No flats for me as of late!
Cheers

heh... I think he means the f-word that I've had four of this week, and trust me, it doesn't rhyme with duck.

But you're right.. Landis is tearing it up today. I was watching the live coverage at home before I left for work and I could barely peel myself away. Ride it like you stole it!

Also: hooray for the Danish Chicken yesterday! He didn't let me down.
