I know most of you guys have posted your T.O. rides at some point in this thread, and probably in the show-your-bike thread, but they are all scattered, and who really wants to go searching around for that stuff. Plus I'm bored. It's cold, and I need some bike lovin' from my computer.

Let's have a nice localized show-your-bike, and maybe a pic of yourself. I bet I have seen you guys around town at some point. I'll go first

My Fixie:

And the schmuk who rides it:

Let the games begin!

Oh, and while we're already doing stuff that people hate, let's go around the room,
and say something about yourself, and a hobby that starts with the first letter of your name :D  -->barrrrfff

Oh ****. This is going to get embarassing.

Honestly, in all my years riding steel in the winter, as daily transportation, I never had a rust problem with any frame I have owned. I've even disected them after the frame failed, to see if there was any rust on the inside, and I never saw anything more than surface oxidation.

It is the carrier solvent that is toxic. The remaining protective goo is not. I know what you are saying as far as a "need" to resort to this stuff. But I have seen quite a few steel bikes with chainstays full of rusty pinholes in my day....not terribly common but it does happen. For most people spray oil or the like is probably sufficient....but if you are on a super sweet ride perhaps the extra effort is worthwhile?

Gokiburi, I was hoping you'd be the big motherlover, but I'm guessing not. What's that sweet bit of red and white goodness you're on?

you lost me on motherlover for a sec, heh... actually, that's a co-worker and good buddy of mine and we're both still stuck at work at this ungodly hour. i've ALMOST got him coverted to ss/fg but he doesn't have a ride. we'll try to remedy that in the spring.
the red and white is the sannino which i've been chastised for riding in this weather. :D you should see it with fenders!!!!

I'm in the midst of acquiring cash to buy an IRO frame. Although I might just cave and buy a Fuji Track.

What bike? I just hang out on these forums ironically - I actually can't stand anything related to cycling.

Yea, I've been meaning to ask bikeophile about those frames he has and also about the level hubs.
Oh well.

I'm so confused. Changed jobs? does that mean no more www.bikeophile.com
*I may be wrong but I'm under the impression that the user bikophile was the owner and creator of bikeophile.com *

Thursday / Friday might not be the best days to ride:

The Toronto area is expected to receive 15 to 20 centimetres. The storm is expected to hang around until Friday night.

This storm is unusual . . . because storms often "hit and run," but "this storm is slow moving," said David Phillips, senior climatologist with Environment Canada.

Making conditions worse, winds gusting up to 60 km/h will produce hazardous driving conditions tomorrow evening.

The blowing snow will make visibility almost nil.

The cold won’t let up either.

The long-range forecast is for frigid temperatures right through Christmas, with temperatures dropping to near —13C on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

He is the owner/operator of Bikeophile....which is still goin strong. He has a regular job as a postie as well, workin crazy hours. For the record all the frames we had made have all been sold. We are shopping around for another builder as the first guy we used was an a$$clown. We will keep ya posted.

Interesting. I didn't mean to imply that frames *can't* rot out, it's just never happened to one of mine. Yeah, if you've got a really sweet ride, go for it-just be careful with that solvent:)
