My monkey a$$ ugly s/s. And after 2 years in India I've seen enough monkeys to know. Free frame from a friend, works great, looks horrid. Stem and bar are one piece, head tube on my fork is too short to fit, headset-who knows, 2 different peddles, canti's on the front, v-brake back, cranks are 3 ring one piece shimo altus I guess. Hacked off the big ring. Was going to run as a fixed, but can't get the chainline straight enough with the cranks. Need a new set and too broke right now. Mismatched mavic rims with a deore hub on front and an axiom s/s disc hub on the back. Rides great.

It’s a fantastic bike. Great for now, it will be even better for the winter ahead.
It’s funny my first non-crappy tire bike when i got here was a wheeler. Got it from a pawn shop on queen st e got me around for a few years good stuff.
Who knew that bike would lead me to be a bike o alcoholic
Cheers
I’ll yell hi if I see you!

edit:darkmother hope no trip to the hospital!

Pyze, do you need any particular kind of stem. I have a couple kicking around fer sure. Do you still want that crank set. I have it, just can't recall the BCD off the top of my head.

If I have time I'll swap out the fork from my IRO to the geared bike, otherwise I have no ride.

Jesus man, heal fast. I might crash the donut ride on Sat anyways to see what kind of shape i'm in.

Have a really nice old Salsa stem, just that my fork is too short/head tube too long to thread a headset onto. Cranks I would love. Let me know where to meet you.

BCD?

I'm feeling a little better today, I'll go either Saturday, or Sunday. Do you have my cel #?

TRaffic Jammer 08-03-06 07:21 AM

Operator couldn't sleep, he's afraid of the lightning.
Kaibot..... where do you get those freaky legless flying dogs? I want one!!!

*scratching that damned road bike itch til it bleeds*
Dark... glad to hear your feeling a bit better.... so what happened, bruise your guttiwuts?
You sure you don't need a check by a Doc to rule out internal injury tough guy?

Clockwork orange....great flick. I think I must have bruised my kidneys somehow, but it is way better than yesterday. I was riding in the don, trying to reel in this MTB'er on my CX bike, and I guess I pushed my limits a bit too far. Riding a steep downhill that transitions to a flat wooden bridge at the bottom, I must have missed my line and caught the edge of the bridge or something. Probably hit the ground/bridge at 35 km/hr. Thought I had broken something for sure-I think I got off easy actually. All part of the fun. Tylenol 3 is my friend.

TRaffic Jammer 08-03-06 07:36 AM

Not to sound paranoid, but should you get some scans?

STEEKER 08-03-06 07:49 AM

LMFAOOOOOOOOO:lol: excellent picture weeeeee

Glad you're feeling better, or at least in riding shape.

I just got my bike back yesterday and had to ride through the thunderstorm for the last few km's back to my house. I'm up for the donut ride if you guys need another wedding crasher (will there be free food?).

Get checked out. A couple quick tests to make sure you don't have anything going on that might sneak up on you.

Those bridges are treacherous. Super slippery when damp. I took a chunk out of my elbow going across one too fast.

TRaffic Jammer 08-03-06 08:22 AM

I've had a few gut checks after some massive slams in the vert skating days. Anytime you suffer HARD deceleration trauma, a gut check is in order.

darkmother 08-03-06 08:57 AM

I think you guys give sensible advice, but I am probably not going to take it. I really hate hospitals, and I resist going unless I absolutely have to. I'll keep a close eye on myself though.

how about this.. if you don't go get your self checked Trafficjamer and I will table dance for you:D

cavernmech 08-03-06 09:34 AM

I am the same as Darkmother. A lot of us i am sure know our bodies pretty well. Whats the use going to the hospital, sit for 5 hours waiting...and then have them say "oh..its a busted rib Mr. MacDonald. Rest it and it will get better". Unless I am bleeding from the ears or cannot run away from the ambulance I will avoid the hospital at all costs. Look at it as a cost saving measure for our already over worked hospital staff.
Oh yeah...if Steeker and Trafficjammer get ya cornered, call 911..lesser of two evils my friend.

TRaffic Jammer 08-03-06 09:41 AM

Steeker doesn't speak for me..... good lord man what kinda trouble you tryin' to get me into.?
To each his own ... I hate the hospitals too. Glad your feelin' better.

Steeker... a thong wearin', table dancin' stripper, TRAPPED in a Steekers' body.
