My Girl Jessica...bringing home the Gold in the 3000m pursuit at the Canadian Track National's. She has only been training for Track for 2 month's. You rock Jess!!
wow, what a rush that was.
I got 10th or 11th place and had a time of 39:30 or something like that.
The guy who won was a monster category 1 racer, he was ****in ripping along.
I kept with him for the first and almost second checkpoint, but I just couldn't hold onto him.
I had no idea where the Stanley park was so I had to slow down a bit and wait for people who knew where they were going and stick with them.
Man that was fun

sounds like the race went well. As I was leaving for the OTT race from my friend's place in Gatineau I discovered a flat tire and only had a patch kit for me. I got to the start just as it was getting under way and I was already totally out of breath and my knee was aching, so I didn't bother. There was only maybe 7 riders and they all seemed like they're were just going to blast off so I didn't want to slow anyone down or get totally lost (which I have a knack for in Ottawa apparently). Surprisingly there was only one or maybe two guys on fixies.

I manned one of the stations. The front three were very fast, Mitch came in with another rider a few minutes later. By then I'd got my note passing skills down except for one rider that I'd missed and had to chase after. Someone else snuck by in the wrong direction so I had to chase her down too.
About twenty odd riders in all, some flyin', some suckin' wind. It was fun for me too except no one told me when the race was over so I sat on the side of the road for an extra hour until I called the guy at the station ahead of me who told me it was done. Also freaked out some regular road cyclists as there was enough regular bike traffic to make me wave a next checkpoint paper at a few of them if they came by fast enough.
A good time though. Next year I'll be racing in it. Missed out on the after-party, though. I had some stuff to do around home and was already running on about four hours sleep.

Hey somnambulant, where do you park your bike? Or rather, do they allow you to bring it into your office.

Yup Mitch did awesome in both the race and the sprints!!!!! He was crankin like his little heart was going to explode in the
Gold Sprints!!! He's someone to look for in the future for the win. Good race, all that started finished, no impacts. Party was pretty good, beers were flowing. I just wish they GS had set up earlier. I buggered off about 1:30. OK KEITH..... next GS you and me buddy, too bad we didn't get to go this time.
Pictures soon to come, *looks at camera...waiting for someone with a cable to show....I gotta get a new one*

I rode the Ride for Karen on Sunday-charity century ride. It was awesome-really well organized, tons of support, and lots of food. Check it out next year, highly recommended.
I ended up riding to and from the start point for a day total of 220 km. Legs are kind of tired today.

Why are your legs tired, I thought you were a machine? Kidding man, awesome ride. Was it a little windy outside the city? Next year you say?

Actually I raced too, however I overshot one of the checkpoints by quite a bit. Dropped for about 5th to about 15th. The after party was awsome. The last race on goldsprints put all the rest to shame, by beating the previous 23.03 seconds by a full second each.
I loved seeing friends on their real race bikes though. Reminded me I've really gotta get a good geared racer.
After the race was a bit crazy, we were all waiting at the finish totally frozen. It seemed none of us remembered to bring sweaters, so those of us that had them were wearing really light rain jackets, and all the racers were shivering cold. Now I'm stuck at home instead of out working because of it, too

Heres to Mitch who rode like a demon....good job bro...all the B.Fers are proud of ya. Especially me who managed to make a few $$ from the unsuspecting suckers who didn't know the "Power of Mitch"TM. in the Goldsprints. Good time was had by all. Most of the results are in but they are still awaiting a few cities before posting them online. We had a fairly respectable showing with our top guys finishing in what I believe was the top 10. Cheers again to all the racers and special props to the checkpoint folks. Anyone who wants a Global Gutz spoke card who didn't get one can stop by the shop...I have about 15 left.

Keith I'll more than likely run a cd by the shop with the pictures in a raw format. I'd love to take another card if possible, just to keep nice.
