maybe later in the summer... trailblazer cycle on the danforth is a big kona dealer but I don't ever recal seeing the unit in there (they even have some sweet Bianchi frames too for sale) the green pista concept frame and fork was hanging from the ceiling last time I was in there |

Keith,
You mentioned awhile back that a Campy bottom bracket would be a good substitute for the Miche one when using Miche Primato track cranks (since the tapers are the same). I looked into that today but it seems like the Campagnolo BB is 2mm wider than the Miche one (109mm vs. 107mm). That would make my chainline a bit chunky. Can you fill me in on this a bit more? I'm not sure if that's the setup you had in mind or if I just haven't found the right bottom bracket yet. Edit: after searching more, this may work: http://harriscyclery.net/site/itemdetails.cfm?ID=1204 |

haha about the dented frame.
oh man, the plot thickens. I figured that I'd just claim insurance from USPS.... but coincidentally this is the first time I skimped on buying insurance so I wouldn't have to pay the heifty customs fee... damn. so claiming insurance isn't possible. Should I ask rayg to send me parts (specifically bars and a saddle ?) or a money reinbursement? |

She'll be a fine ride on the streets of Toronto this spring (and hopefully even this winter if I can get the cash together for all the parts). Cheers Btw still waiting on frame! |
Check the link, that's the shop I bought it from. They had (have?) the frame on sale for $200 US, which is a pretty good deal. It's just straight gauge 4130 (tig welded), but it's got steeper / tighter geometry than the Steamroller or Angus (my other two options). Aside from the KHS that's too small for me, I've only ridden conversions for road bikes. It'll be nice to have a track frame that fits me finally. She ain't pretty, but I'll love her just the same. ;)
That's ... HyperReview's Pake. We've been talking about the frame lately. The funny part is his bike's going to have a clone up in Toronto. I'd already planned on picking up a chrome straight blade fork from BikeWorks NYC - when I saw his Pake I couldn't help but laugh. Edit: got my spell on. |

The Pake looks nice, can't you find a similar fork in Toronto? Or is Bikeworks' fork really cheap?
|
Dunno yet. Urbane's open again on Tuesday. Their Urbanite fork has too much rake, but maybe they can order me in one. As soon as Keith rears his head I'm also going to see if he can find something.

Hey Guys!!
Long time no see!!! It's been a while since I've been on here, and although I've bumped into OPERATOR A couple times, and still talk to Keith (cavernmech) pretty much daily I felt super detached from the bikeforums for quite a while! Bumping into Cam the other day was the final "bump" I needed to get my sorry butt back in here! EYEFLOATER - I saw your post about the MICHE vs. Campy BB. It does work fine. Until switchin to the Campy Crankset this year I had been running MICHE Cranks with Campy BB's for a couple years. 2mm is a very tiny difference, but since you can adjust the chainline with the BB, mine was always straight as an arrow :) So anyone interested in a MONDAY New Years Fixie ride??? I'd love to get back out and re-connect with you guys (and meet any of you guys that have been here since I stopped posting) I HOPE YOU ALL HAVE AN AWESOME NEW YEARS EVE! I will pop by over the next couple days...and see who feels like skidding around the streets on Monday! RoBBiE |
Hi bikeophile,
welcome back! I was wondering where you went. I tried asking about your wrong-stocked 58cm frames a long time ago but I found another frame instead. I'm so damn excited cause parts are finally coming in for my first fixxie. should be done in 3 weeks. huzzah! (and about that dented frame, i'm getting a saddle as reinbursement. maby I can squeeze in free bars as well.) happy new years eve. |
Thanks :) Got your PM's sr20det! We'll chat more soon :)
By the way guys...we got some IRO frames come in. I've heard that there are issues getting Mark V frames but we just got some in and Angus and Jamie Roy frames. So I don't know if that's because I ordered them long ago, or because they like me :) Cheers RoB |
Yep i'm up for New Years ride, as long as there isn't like ice/snow on the roads.
|
I might be up for it too.. depends on the roads. I think we're supposed to get more snow between now and then.
|
Haha 1:29 am post. Guess who didn't go to new years partays!
|
Good Morning all!
So....for those of us into a Moday ride....I'm not sure what places will be "OPEN" for business food or beverage-wise...but I am sure our friends at KIM MOON BAKERY might be available for some good eats... Personally, I hope there is a little snow on the ground. Maybe we can find somewhere not too populated and have some snow-skid competitions :) I'm feeling pretty darned sick right now...self induced, but I am sure I'll be ok by tomorrow! :) by the way...Did I read somewhere that Gokiburi is out of town? Different Country? |

so what's the deal for tomorrow, kids? I still haven't done a test-ride since I hurt my ribs, so I'll have to check that out before I commit. :)
|
Gotta work. Booourns.
|
maybe we can stop by the shop.. :D
|
working too...ick
|
Not looking too good for me, turns out i'm going paintballing, and I have to exchange a defective JS I bought... for the SECOND time.
If anyones in the store for a bike movie, Beijing Bicycle was excellent. |
Ok well sounds like I'm on my own today...Looks real crappy out anyways...I was hoping for more snow/less rain...
Oh well :) Anyways, talk to you guys soon! RoB |
uh somethings wrong here, we're on the 2nd page again..............
....there that's better. (my legs will start to ache very badly if I don't ride for a couple of days straight I've noticed.) |
