haha just cut the sleeve off your sweater and slip it over your top tube.

... if you could only somehow manage to slip it over your top tube...
... and if only they also made the argyle pattern on sleeves ....

I bought a bike off Igor about 13 years ago, a great GT Karokoram that I still have. He was legit back then and I even had a cop friend of mine run the numbers on the bike to make sure it wasn't stolen----I know, I know, that just means it wasn't reported as stolen, but I did the most that I could, I think. I still see him alot as I ride Queen all the time and he still calls me "GT Man" even though it has been about 13 years and I am always riding my Ciocc. Weird.

I also just bought a nice bike off of CL which I am pretty happy about, a Specialized Roubaix road bike-----the listing is gone but this is a pic. I paid 1200$ for it, but I think it is a pretty good deal as it is full Ultegra except for the wheels which are 105 and the cassette which is Dura Ace. I've never paid this kind of money for a bike before but it is super light and responsive, so I know I will be happy with it. I think I will take it on that Toronto-Montreal charity ride that is happening this year; who else is doing that?

sweet ride man, very sweet. I think you gotta a good deal at $1200 for a Roubaix even used.

I plan on doing the montreal trip on a geared bike too.

Between fixed rides I don't mind riding road (or mountain either) if any of you guys are into that sort of thing...but fixies are obviously paramount!

somnambulant 01-05-06 12:31 PM

toronto to montreal, eh? that sounds a little too hardcore to me! :P

got a website url for that?

An argyle nutsack cosy to go with my pink naugahyde thong! JACKPOT!!

eurg!
I thought naugahyde was a made up word....
and I just searched it up on google and saw what type of material it was....

sr20det 01-05-06 05:22 PM

alright!
I just got an email back from the Mack Track hubs guy from Poland.
I think his hubs are featured on the berlin keirin site. (they're also on Ebay now)
The hubs are supposedly hand made - and they do look quite nice!
and the prices are quite reasonable!
Thinking of maby refunding the primatos I have and picking up one of his handmade hubs.

If you want to find out prices, PM me.
He has pretty good deals for bulk buys.

I think it would be effing faboo if we could put together a nice crew of people from BF.

operator 01-06-06 03:56 AM

Bah the longest ride i've ever done solo is like a century. Toronto to Montreal, i'd probably die along the way somewhere.

SamHouston 01-06-06 07:34 AM

You should try it, you'll have a great time! (no, I gotta work)

A ride like this will have your legs sore a bit on the last days and after but it actually feels good, that sore leg feeling. Doing a century is much harder, no rest stops set up and a race format. With a good group a century is a +/-5 hour workout from hell. On a ride like this you've got 9-10 hours to cover the same amount of territory, you can zip along or cruise at a leisurely pace. Race between rest stops is what me n my friends always did on charity rides in Tx.

Check the route and the schedule to determine how much of the day you have to complete each leg of the journey, it's a long ride but fully supported and without the clock whipping your backside it can be a real nice lil vacation.

Hey guys!
Spent the day out riding yesterday. It was wet and messy, but still fun! :) Anyone else out riding this weekend?

By the way, I've seen Keith's Naugahyde Thong. Its something that's for sure!

hey.. did I see you riding on Roncesvalles today? I saw someone on a Spicer, but I can't remember exactly what you look like. :) I was in my car on my way to brunch (@Mitzi's).

eyefloater 01-08-06 01:51 PM

I don't think we've ever met ... and if you know what I look like you really need to stop peeing in my windows. Either that, or put on something sexy and join in.

I don't own a Spicer. Gene's got an offer on the table ($500USD - frame only) but I haven't taken him up on it (yet?) ...

- eyefloater

PS. I did however find a link off the American Cyclery site for my elusive KHS Aero Track frameset ($300USD, frame + fork, aluminum model). Which is perfect timing since I just dropped a few hundred on that Pake frame. If I can figure out some sort of financial juggling act (hello, lay-away) I'll get in contact with them and see if they even still have one in stock. It may be the spring of bike builds if this comes together.

Edit: Man, that typo was so awesome I'm just going to leave it for everyone else to enjoy. ;)

somnambulant 01-08-06 01:55 PM

my bad. It's shiznaz that has the spicer. However I won't stop peeing in your windows. :D

and you shouldn't be spreading that KHS business around, some of us might call dibs. ;)

/me goes to the American Cyclery site.

sr20det 01-08-06 01:56 PM

haha, I just checked American Cyclery...
I didn't see the frame listed there.

eyefloater 01-08-06 02:08 PM

Ya, I just got off the phone w/ them. No dice. It was an out-of-date page.

sr20det 01-08-06 02:12 PM

you can feel better with your pake and beefy wallet :)

sr20det 01-08-06 02:15 PM

I think we should both build up the frames we've just bought before we start something else. ;)

sr20det 01-08-06 03:47 PM

lets race to see who can get the bike built up first.

dang, all my stuff better show up in the mail tomorrow morning. I've been waiting TWO weeks and nothing has shown up. curse you USPS.

I'm trying to get it all done in another 3 weeks.

operator 01-08-06 04:29 PM

Nice angle on those drops HAHA.

Yeah but Shiznaz stealthed his, so it no longer says Spicer anywhere on his bike.

exactly what I was thinking.. yeesh

Well, I guess someone else in TO has a dark grey spicer. I didn't think it was shiznaz, but I wasn't certain.

This guy seemed like a fixie newbie also, but I could be wrong. When he pulled up to the stop light he was kind of wobbly and also had his sweet-foot at about 1:00 while he was waiting.. obviously makes getting going again somewhat tricky. :)
