woah, looking at the pictueres again.
did you guys find a track frame or something!?

eyefloater 03-11-06 06:41 PM

Holy mother of god was it ever busy at the shop today. Everyone and their mother apparently felt like coming in, having a look around and getting a flat fixed. I ended up selling two bikes though (first two in Cycle Therapy's history) which I thought was pretty cool/hilarious, seeing as I have the worst personality out of anyone at the shop. ;)

Still waiting for an answer on that Salsa chainring question. Speak up please if you're in the know.

We were going to hit up your store eyefloater but then we decided not to.
And went to the pub.

And sonambulant managed to get a photo of me that you can't even see it's me.

!!

The track frame darkmother picked up at cavern.

That’s great man very cool on selling 2 bikes last time i was there, the shop was not selling bikes. a good step forward. A good chainring & bb best to see one of the two shops always mentioned. But i'm sure a salsa would work great no?

sr20det 03-11-06 07:03 PM

does the frame has world champ strips on it?
any details about the frame?

eyefloater 03-11-06 07:04 PM

Sweep,
The shop changed locations. We're now on Queen a block east of Pape. The new place looks good and is waaay bigger than the old shop.

Operator,
While I'm saddened to hear that the trip to say hi got cancelled, I fully respect that I was bumped to make room for pub time. You have done no wrong.

sr20det 03-11-06 07:07 PM

at least I got visited today by the toronto crew before they went pubbing.
no hard feelings :)

Yeah, I'm still "camera shy" around you guys -- my quick-draw shots were kind of blurry. :P

eyefloater: I'd definitely like to come out and check out the shop sometime soon. But food and beer beckoned today.

sr20det: he's wearing the columbus cap in the pictures while fixing the flat. nice eyes! :)

We'll get you next time.

jeremywhitehorn 03-11-06 08:52 PM

damn, i should have come out riding with you guys today. i realized as i was venturing out just before noon that you would be meeting. but man alive, i was cycling because i'm trying to drink LESS beer. i just had to ride hills, hills, hills to whip myself into shape before the first official club ride of the season next week.
so i hauled my ass up bluffer's park hill (brimley/kingston road); i mentioned doing a group ride up this hill a while ago. i'd still like to see it happen; i'll buy a beer for the first guy to the top. actually threre's a great pub not too far from there, feather's, which is famous for having 450+ kinds of sinlge malt scotch on hand. not sure if you all are into that kind of imbibing (sp?). wait, less beer, less beer...

shinaz - when are we going to see the cyclops on the road? (that isn't an ancient riddle...)

eyefloater 03-11-06 10:16 PM

Re: scotch, I am in that horrible stage where I enjoy it (certain kinds) but I certainly don't know enough to walk into a pub with 450(!) kinds of scotch and make an educated selection.

I wish! The dude she brought with her on the mountain bike was totally cramping my styles.

Jet Sanchez: the hubs are Level Hubs front and back

Jeremy: the cyclops will be on the road shortly after I get the headset for it from somnambulant and get the frame prepped (tapped, reamed, chased etc.). No pressure Wes!

PS. What has 3 wheels in the morning, 2 wheels in the afternoon and 4 wheels in the evening?

eyefloater 03-12-06 12:01 AM

I was looking through the photo thread last night Shiznaz the Cyclops really caused a big wave one guy said best bike posted in a long time amongst others props it very sweet & unique.

If we did a Kingston road run later down the line i'm right around the Conner pit stop BBQ? No scotch here though that’s Satan juice.
Cheers

so did you guys end up at Sneaky Dee's or what?, I'll be really bummed if I missed out on that.

A friend woke me up at like 5 minutes to 6 yesterday morning standing at my door with his roadbike, so I wolfed down breakfast and we ended up riding to another friends house waking him up at 6:30 then riding to Aurora and back... first century of the year (140-150km something like that... I didn't have my computer on the bike)......*shame* although I didn't ride my fixie either..... too much salt up there.

no, we wanted to go visit Keith @ Cavern, so it was the wrong direction to hit Sneaky Dee's. We just hit a pub down around there. But I definitely think we need to go there for some dirty food and dirtier beer sometime soon.

If you're really curious about the route distance.

The UI needs some work.

cool, I just tried to trace my route... it was more like 135km for the day.
I find it interesting that although google maps does not display the streets of the so-call Oak Ridges Morain (sp?), obviously because that was under threat of suburban developement and last we heard it was to remain natural parkland?? therefore it shouldn't be displaying streets because there shouldn't be any. But yesterday part of our morning route zig zagged diagonally from Yonge and Elgin Mills up to Bathurst and Bloomington Sideroad. While riding we didn't know that was part of the Oak Ridges area......but looking at it now it's easy to see. Where google displays nothing north of Bathurst Glenn Golf course is actually solid housing development right now. Money talks eh?

yet another wicked awesome day today huh?

my "enjoying the weather" ride today:

eyefloater: I assumed the shop was closed today and I was correct, but I went past it on my way and peeked in. :) I'll definitely have to drop by sometime! When are you guys starting Summer hours?

Have fun today, everyone - it looks like it's going to be nice weather all day (high of 10 degrees). My ass is going to be kickin' out the jams (mother****er) at the shop.

Don't think that Bikes on Wheels has any.

That's my usual TT route.

There seems to be quite the discrepancy with the gmap pedometer site and actual google maps. For example the latter has the bayview extension while the former does not. I think there's some sort of sync issue with pedometer being seriously outdated.
