Part of the "extrusion" girder design of the arms is what gives them they're rigidity.

Oh yeah...and reading the Robb Report won't stop your G.F/wife from stepping out on a ****** like you. ZING...and I'm out.

Lads ..please bear with me in these silly hardware questions, these are the beginnings of my lets-buy-a-porsche years. the more I think of my MTB as SS the more I like the idea. Until until another bike or two has found it's way into the house it'll be primarily geared for ripping roadway back and forth and round and round. I've never been a weight weenie, but I respect the ability to crush a rim.

You'll see him as having posted, but his actual blather won't be. Yes you JIT, pronounced GIT! Unless she's of the Stepford Wife school, some of these ****** types leave nothing to chance as to stay in "control" all the time.

lymbzero 10-05-06 12:19 PM

I went out for a Urban SS brakeless freeride last night.. pretty much oversized brakeless bmxing.. WHAT A BLAST!

However, I think I'll put some brakes on for more tricking...

I have the white frame.. but i also have another bike.. a sliver planetX ghost.

No fixing.. that would be crazy for "rookie" trials.

Although.. do people actually fix 26'ers? I never really thought about that till now.

My 26" wheeled cruiser bike is fixed and it rocks. Not a bike for racing or trials but fer gettin around town it is awesome. The combo radio/horn helps my speed.

Yea no amount of money can get the ****** stink out.

To my knowledge the only thing that gets out ****** stink is a little self-deprication and respect for all cyclists. Gonna be stinky on Cluny for a long time.

TRaffic Jammer 10-05-06 12:45 PM

I am not referring to you of course. Everyone needs a nearly naked mad scotsman with a back injury and a predilection to midnight fishin' in their lives.

Gonna be stinky on Cluny for a long time.....but the place is so big it'll take forever before you can smell it from the sidewalk.

Shiznaz 10-05-06 12:47 PM

I'm pretty sure his real name is Rumple Stiltskin...

Moi aussi. I just don't know how easy it is to retrofit a lot of the actual green BUILDING techniques that I'd love to have (like a green roof). The thermostat timers just seems obvious to me. Who WOULDN'T want to set up such a thing? You're saving money for basically no investment, and besides that I hate sleeping in a warm room anyway, so I'd prefer the heat to go down over night.

Speaking of which, anyone up for a BSG season premiere viewing this weekend? The missus is out of town so I need someone to snuggle on the couch with. :D

TRaffic Jammer 10-05-06 12:49 PM

Still trying to see if mine will allow me to watch it.

STEEKER 10-05-06 12:50 PM

whats BSG ??

Shiznaz 10-05-06 12:56 PM

Battlestar Galactica

Is it only playing on SPACE? because I don't have cable and am addicted to that show. If its a cable-only-affair I will have to attend.

Also, toronto has a lot of pitches roofs which are pretty much incompatible with green roofs. Even so, we've got millions of square feet that could be turned green that we just let languish.

TRaffic Jammer 10-05-06 01:00 PM

There is a really cool apt on Coxwell a bit below Gerrard on those pillars. I think it was alot of recycle building materials, though I'm not sure of how much funky energy tech is in there. If you had microgenerators on mini wind mills (house fan sized) and mounted a bunch on your roof, that would pivot and catch the breeze, how much juice do you think it would generate. Greening an existing roof is damned expensive.

Offhoff 10-05-06 01:04 PM

I'm pretty sure its only on space but I'm gonna be up north so the wonders of torrents will have to come into play.

Let us all be thankful this weekend for bit torrent and its awesomeness.

As well let us be thankful that keith is a wicked LBS owner and knows exactly how to treat a troll.

Yeah, it's just Space, and you're welcome to come watch it.

Shiznaz 10-05-06 01:06 PM

I don't think covering your house in fan-sized wind turbines would work (or at least not in Toronto). What happens when it snows? I think as far as micro-generation goes, solar, geothermal and micro-hydro are the best options. As well as general efficiency and conservation.
