Heya,
Jet Sanchez suggested this place for power coating a while back. They're in etobicoke though.

I do have a single-speed Miele though, so maybe I can join you with that.
Anywho, I PM'd cavit8 with info regarding powder-coating a bike in Toronto. He mentioned this thread and that maybe some of you guys would like to have the same information, so here it is: Spectrum Powder Coaters 416-622-4595 63 Medulla Avenue, Etobicoke, ON M8Z 5L6 These guys are great and friendly and, most importantly, cheap. I got the Ciocc powder-coated with a custom colour for 60$ and the Miele powder-coated black for 25$----they just threw it in with some patio chairs, meaning it wasn't a custom set-up. That is a pretty good deal, especially considering that it won't chip, which is the whole reason I had to get the Ciocc done in the first place, that notoriously lousy Italian paint. I hope someone can use this information, let me know when you guys next plan to hook up for a ride. Later. |

Spectrum Powder Coaters
63 Medulla Avenue, Etobicoke, ON M8Z 5L6 Tel. : 416-622-4595 Edit: I'm getting slow in my old age. |
hey eyefloater,
how's your buildup coming along? |
Slow but good. I'm still accumulating parts, so it'll be awhile. I think by mid-February I'll be up and running though.
My brain just died ... but to whoever has the Mavic pursuit bars (Somnabulant, Shiznaz?): what's clamp diameter do they fit? My pair is still stuck in Flint Michigan, so I may have to pick up a stem before I get the bars in my hands. |

these guys are near O'Connor Dr./Victoria Park area and do frame painting I think, http://www.racersportif.com/Service_FramePainting.htm and these guys are on Bloor west I have no experience with either, but they do specialize in bike frames, so a custom/detail/multi colour job might easier to get from these guys than just a straight up single colour powder coat from a place that does lawn furnature.

I've got a new 49T Sugino 75 (144BCD) chainring on the way that I won't be using.
Q: Anyone have a comparible 48T chainring they're willing to trade? |

Q: Anyone have a comparible 48T chainring they're willing to trade? Also no frame yet looks like early next week?! So no parts to trade but my (i’m watching) list is maxed at 30! Thanks Cheers |
*out of the blue*
I think this spring once it warms up a bit we should have a day of grass track racing. It'd be a good chance for everyone to come out and take part in something they're absolutely horrible at (unless we have a ringer in town). Then, I believe drinks (rootbeer in sr's case) should be in order. |
gingerbeer is better!
If spring is in 3 weeks or more, I'll be able to make it. need to finish my exams and make it into uni next yet. |

Further to the cyclops track bike that was mentioned a bit ago, I've been in correspondence with the maker's son and he's got a few frames for sale. This is the one I was speaking with him about (a 58 cm). My circumstances have changed such that it's unlikely I'll have any cash for this. If you're interested, I can put you in touch with him. He apparently has some other sizes but he hasn't got back to me with what they are.

s-s-s-so c-c-c-cold.
I really need a proper set of winter riding gloves. I'm just wearing a pair of fleece gloves right now, and they don't help a whole lot. Ze goggles! Zey do nussing! My gf bought me a pair at Bikes on Wheels for xmas, but they were too small.. brought them back and they didn't have any larger sizes. d'oh! Now I have store credit and have to wait for them to get more.. Or I could just use the money towards that Soma coffee holder. ;) |
I use the MEC espresso sunglasses with clear lenses for all my winter/night/crap biking. They are a great price and the spare lenses are so cheap you can abuse the hell out of them and then just get a replacement. And there is nothing as slick as wraparounds.
