That and they're cutting square holes with LASERs when cutting a slot with an endmill would do just as well :p

Offhoff I'll have to agree with you there, generalized education of the masses in north america, um ..... blows when compared to the rest of the world. Then they sit back and wonder why they start to lose when the markets are all opened up.

As for media types the Style guide is usually buried in their bottom drawer.

UTILIZEZ LA SUBJONCTIF!

Thats about my extent of technical grammar. I am very good at speaking english and I have impeccable grammar, but I couldn't tell you the rules of grammar. Its like asking Michael Schumacher to repair the race cars he drives. anyways, me liking scuba more bigger from long time. So there.

I like the way Indian people in UAE speak english "I am wanting for you to have a very nice day!" "Why thank you!!!"

TRaffic Jammer 01-24-07 04:06 PM

as for cutting a square hole I leave it up to Chip Foose

Try the Hinglish in India. Took me forever to teach the call center workers 'proper' english.

As for spelling/grammer in Ontario it's getting worse. Thank the Ontario gov't for that. Teachers can no longer deduct marks for grammer and spelling on work. For that matter, although there are ways around it, I can't deduct marks for late assignments. If it's due in October and I get it in June I'm still supposed to give it the mark it would have received in Oct.

Lol Offhoff. Calm down. It was a joke. I know exactly what LASER stands for. I do find it comical that you're trying to boast about your writing skills and slag off immigrants in the same post.

I am extremely impressed that you can recite things and use encyclopedia as well. While at the same time offering no original thoughts on the topic at hand.

What? Thats news to me! I always had marks taken off for spelling and grammar up to my last year in university really. By my last year I simply wasn't making spelling and grammatical errors in work, and the teachers didn't care if I got it in a month late (Thank god for that, I'm terrible at getting work in on time). In your line of teaching thats going to be a really stale cake though!

PS. Op and Offhoff. Clearly the only way to settle this is a street luge competition, but Offhoff has to use cartidge bearings because they suck so much he'll have a huge handicap.

Bloor
Spadina
Giant marble dominoes

Be there or be crushed by one of giant marble dominoes

my favourite (ie. frustrates me the most) redundant acronym is when people ask for your 'PIN number'. Argh!

PS. I concur. The hebrew language has acronyms all over the place. That's part of the reason it's such a rich language.

I've been by there when a bunch of cyclists were just standing around waiting. I always wondered what was going on, but I just continued riding home. Interesting...

Shiznaz 01-24-07 05:00 PM

That must have been the last friday of the month at 6pm. Thats CM.

tovi 01-24-07 05:01 PM

they meet at 6, but only roll off at around 6:30.

For elementary and secondary school.

Some cyclist you are.

All the real men will be there. Like this guy!

Ok, I gotta jump in here. If anybody has (or knows or anyone who has) those Briko Stinger sunglasses that Cipo is sporting in that picture (from the link above), PLEASE sell them to me. I happen to think those are the most badass shades aver made.

Also, when in NYC a couple months ago, I went by Trackstar and they had a wicked tshirt with Merckx's face silkscreened on, and underneath the words 'Eddy is watching'. I loved that.

Shiznaz 01-24-07 07:06 PM

I put my brooks on my commuter so now I can break it in on the way to and from work. Its already more comfortable than my regular commuting saddle and its still hard as a rock. Now my bike is red, yellow, blue, white, green (the saddle) and black. Just FYI.

pyze-guy 01-24-07 07:17 PM

My guilty pleasure: American Idol.

I feel so dirty.

Which brooks did you get? I think I might try one.

I know what you mean. I feel the same way about Briko Zen's. I checked ebay after reading your post and there's a pair of Zen's there, but thankfully I have no money to squander...

I would hesitate to compare the use of the english language on this board to the mastery of an F1 driver. I'd say more like a tourist on rented Rollerblades climbing an escalator.;)

somnambulant 01-24-07 07:58 PM

Just got home from the Bloor Cinema (saw "This Film Is Not Yet Rated".. good times).. what a lovely night for a ride. The temperature isn't too cold, pretty calm winds and the snow is making everything seem oh so quiet. I kinda wish I hadn't just come straight home!

As a side note, my gf got a taxi home while I rode, and as per usual I showed up at the house at the same time as her. I wasn't even hurrying. I got a red light at Bathurst right away so I assumed they were long gone.

I have band practice now every Friday night, so no more CM for me. If spending the end of a work week drinking beers and making The Rock makes me not a real man, than I welcome my life as pseudo-man. :)

Due to lack of interest I am passing on the torch for organizing a trip to Forest City. Somebody else do it. What gives? I thought a bunch of you guys wanted to go?

Sirrobinofcoxly 01-24-07 09:21 PM

I thought a bunch of people wanted to go on the snow ride too. Nuff said. :p

tovi 01-24-07 09:26 PM

Danhalen: My interest hasn't waivered one bit. I have no problem organizing this trip, but it just means y'all will have to wait until the outing suits my schedule. I'll tell you right now that if this falls on my shoulders, I'll most likely follow through sometime between right....now, and the 15th of Feb.

Danhalen 01-24-07 09:28 PM
