Hey! Nice to see you back.

Operator: I dropped that big book off for you. You know, the one with the pictures.

Pyze: It looks like the 14cm fork will work. I can drop the other one off for you whenever (Tim Hortons???? I should get the La Pavoni back from Faema shortly, so we'll fix that).

Whoa, was that picture always there? Before when I was looking at it from school, it was a picture of a stick-girl. Which is why I didn't realize you were talking about the Disney-church.

Also, MATLAB-sticles are much easier to kick that MATLABoobies, hence I chose the male personification.

And now they’re rolling off while riding.

Fin.

i used to go through a pair of those about once a winter until i got sick of spending the $20 and now i stick plastic bags inside my shoes. i like the design of those though; if anyone comes across something similar that is better constructed by all means let me know.

If I'm wearing sandals (which is usuall), a pair of wicking socks, woolies then neoprene socks is fine for the duration of my commute. I have another set of booties I can put over top or layer up more socks for greater wicking/warmth action... My mtb shoes are freezing but that's because they're a little snug.

operator, I'm home now. Call until 1AM-ish. 416-783-0818 If you're coming to California, that's WICKED!

I doubt it. I'm mostly parked around the Bloor Street Strip. Is there another genius out there with this hot ass ride? I would like to meet the sucker, I bet he/she has good taste.

DrBenway 01-19-07 06:59 AM

@jeremywhitehorn: Funny I was actually thinking of simply ditching out to the plastic bags. It's true the design overall is pretty good it's really just that one issue.

@cativ8: Yeah part of my problem is that I'm wearing my 8 year old Specialized mtb shoes. Very drafty and the wet can get in around the cleat mount, etc. Hoping to solve that prob at the bike show.

@sirrobin: Ahh. I've definitely seen it there. It certainly gets the blood pumping during that morning walk seeing some sweet action roll down that street. Happens quite a bit on that street actually. I would be shocked if at least some of them weren't on here.

yeah i know they're re-enforced at the toe, but still not made for walking IMO. i've tried duct taping them and everything, they still wear out.

There's something about Ritchey bike parts that make me happy in the pants. I don't know what it is exactly, but I find them very aesthetically pleasing.

That is all.

Hello Bottecchia Contestants,

After carefull consideration, scrutinizing pain, and a little randomness I have selected the winner.
You will be notified by PM as not to make the other people jelous.

That is all.

I WON!
http://smokeys-trail.com/we-won-t-forget.jpg

Is there anything more to being american these days than flags, eagles, religiosity and dogmatic rhetoric?

PS. Show your patriotism by buying an America's Pride Ring!

If you haven't given a firefighter a ******* today, you're helping the terrorists.

I really wonder what these people get out of creating a webpage with animated stars and stripes backgrounds, horrendous embedded patriotic songs, and copy and pasted made up inspirational stories and threadbare hymns, and mindless support for government and war.

somnambulant 01-19-07 11:21 AM

hah.. suckers.

There isn't anything wrong with being patriotic, per se
But you're right ... I think these patriots are blinded by their media and super-sized meals.

Stuff like "Made in America by hardworking Americans" just makes me cringe.

U.S.A!......U.S.A!

TRaffic Jammer 01-19-07 12:32 PM

While I find America's brand of hypocritical patriotism distasteful, Canadians lack it in a bad bad way. We would benefit as a country from a bit more flag waving I think. .02$

Sirrobinofcoxly 01-19-07 12:34 PM

I think a lot of Canadian patriotism is packaged as anti-Americanism, which I don't think is right. Good people with a questionable government.

TRaffic Jammer 01-19-07 12:45 PM

I agree... while I enjoy slagging the States as much as anyone else, THAT is not an indicator of how I feel about my country.

somnambulant 01-19-07 12:55 PM

I like bicycles.

jet sanchEz 01-19-07 12:55 PM

I love Americans and always have; they are mostly really nice and really friendly but yeah, they have a very questionable government. However, most countries put into their position (the most powerful in the world) would like have to have a government with similar clandestine campaigns and attitudes. Watch what China does in the next few decades.

TRaffic Jammer 01-19-07 01:06 PM

yup good people lead by a crazy sphere of shady influence where even the elected officials aren't REALLY in charge

I didn't really win...

PS. I hear that TJ is not a patriot. Get him!

TRaffic Jammer 01-19-07 01:40 PM

Burn him !!!! ....oh wait that's me.... *hides where they'll never find me* The barren landscape of the Pakistani/Afghan border. "Ossama wuz here"...wtf?

I think its awesome that China can shoot down satellites now. They should turn it into a sport or something.

What really bothers me is the international outcry against China for doing it. America has a huge history of experimentation with weaponizing space. I'm just afraid they are going to use this case to scare the population into going along with giving a few billion to lockheed martin et al for 'space defenses'. Its like China is being treated like a little brother being told they are not allowed to smoke cigarettes by people who are smoking cigarettes.

The US recently revised their 'Space Policy', setting out, among other things, that they have the right to deny access to Space any state or nation that is 'hostile' towards the US. This is to ensure that Space remains a peaceful place. Jerks!
