All weapons systems are designed to kill more efficiently than the previous version or technology. Shooting is fun, but one can't have any illusions as to what the weapon is capable of. Target shooting is great fun but it is merely training for the day.....

A soldier trains for war, but prays for peace.

I am NOT going to say that blowing the hell out of something with a high powered tripod mounted machine gun isn't one of the biggest rushes you'll ever experience in your life.

Large diff though in going to a range and renting vs. keeping one at home.

Kinda like the monster descent in Vermont for 6 miles where I white knuckled to 95 kms/hr

Hm, wish I had a digicam. It's just a generic normal looking stem. Nothing too fancy... Something like this:

http://www.byercycles.co.uk/15_01%20...tem%20htm1.jpg

But with a less pretty finish. It's just black and has some wear.

Hey Canice I did a story for CBC Sunday on MC once, I met some CRAZY people while doing research. Turned out really well too.

I once got MCed after a skateboarding through the parking garages of Toronto night, which was odd...

Now I'm researching a story about all the crazy hidden places in Toronto. Like the fact there is a shooting range in the gov't building beside Union Station. You go in at lunch hour and all these brokers/traders/bankers are filling targets full of lead to get out frustration, very surreal.

Thumbs up on the 80 mm. Now to figure out how to unattach this stem, as it's given me trouble before. Nothing like a solid excuse to procrastinate.

I did have an urge to go all Capone with the Tommy Gun in the 'firing range'.

i have an urge to go rambo with the bazooka. some of the "firing ranges" in the former soviet union are crazy too.. i'll take the tank please.

sounds interesting, is the MC clip online? you reporter/producer/writer/camera?

toronto is full of weird stuff like taddle creek, which runs south to the lake along church or thereabouts. when they started developing toronto, they just dammed and buried it, then built on top of it. for the longest time i kept hearing about a mythical hatch in one of ryerson's buildings, apparently you open it up and the creek is still running. liars.

Don't forget CSIS and the FBI is just down the street from there, there are more armed personnel in that section of town than just about anywhere.

I heard there was a firing range in the basement of one of the UofT buildings.
UT gun club?

I've only ever fired a low calibre rifle in cadets

I've always wanted to shoot a handgun at a firing range.

I know one of the women who runs "Lost Rivers", she showed me all these maps in her house.
She said if I ever find the "hatch" she's going to have tours going down there. Could be neat.

Yeah his idea and execution were amazing. I'm more curious as to what's behind the closed doors of the city. Like the fact Liberty Village is one of pron capitols of Canada. Or the super high-end "pleasure room" rental places that provide everything from alcohol to girls to safety substances for their patrons. The backroom poker games, back alley clubs, all night loft parties all that sort of thing. Also the restaurants to go too if you speak the language or want something...strage stuff like that. Its been a whole lot of work but I finally think I'm getting enough material together to have an amazing story.

Canice I'm titled as a producer but I'm more of a jack-of-all-trades and I like it that way.

There is a new building going up just behind Orde St public school and Mt Sinai hospital. I got a tour in there during early construction and they showed me how they had created a series of open channels underneath the lowest floor but above the foundations, for Taddle creek to flow through. They said they got the design from the Dutch or some other European companies.

Shiznaz 01-26-07 04:00 PM

Damnit, I'm riding on 23c slicks today. I'm gonna be sliding all over the place. The stuff thats falling from the sky right now is REALLY slippery. I'll at least stop by CM to see who is there.

STEEKER 01-26-07 04:48 PM

no CM for me , video game night

iherald 01-26-07 04:55 PM

That sucks. I liked that magazine.

2wheelsgood 01-26-07 06:34 PM

I went to CM, totally under-dressed, peeled off early and ate sh*t in the streetcar track turn at bay and dundas on the way home. Time for beer+doobie+movie.

Shiznaz 01-26-07 07:08 PM

I braved the whole thing. Cold toes!

2wheelsgood 01-26-07 07:18 PM
