Hrm, how rough is it? I've gotten seat-posts out before, does it look really bad to you? I've got a 60cm bike right now and it is fine for me, is it really a 60? I emailled the guy but never heard back. PM me if you'd prefer.

They come out faster if you swear at them while wrenching them out

I feel the same way. About the 50 dollar brand new benotto even. Is there something wrong with me?

Same thing here. 60 is just about right for me too. Stuck seatpost and stem isn't that big of a problem if you are willing to commit to removing them. Sometimes you gotta get a little crazy....

I got a stem off of a bike carcas on the street once. I used a large pipe wrench, a chainlink fence, the sidewalk and a large dolomitic rock to free it. Seatposts sound really fun because of the 0 leverage situation. Easiest solution may be to just drill a hole through the post, stick a few feet rebar through it and twist it off. At least that seems like it would be the most fun way to do it.

The Bottechia.

I got the stem out already.

But the seatpost just needs a little "effort".
This is effort that I don't feel like producing since I'd need a ladder to get on the bike if it was complete.
A little heat would probably do it.

To tell you the truth, it's not even that nice. The BB shell is welded really ass.
The seam is all sloppy. But then again, maybe all BB's were ass welded in the 60's.
BTW. .it's an ITalian BB 70mm.

I'll take some pics tonight. See if you guys really want it.
I'd like to give it to a REALLY TALL person. Cuz that's what it's for.

If you three are tall then you can flip a three sided coin to see who gets it.
I don't like playing favorites.

It produces this rivalry between Toronto BF buddies..
"Things like outdressing each other."

Which emails are whose?
I've got a list of 12 or so people so far.

Bikes: A bunch

hmm,

I called the guy about that Benotto frame and said I could pick it up tomorrow, so he told me to call him tomorow to see if he still has it or if someone else snatched it up before me.

I hope I get it.

Here's my quarterly check in...I know it's been a long time.

Another horse in the crew. Just finished up an SS (soon to be fixed) Fetish Fixation Mountain bike. Made to be used as my winter/snow beater, as well as rigid fixed MTB in the spring. Don't want to ride my pimped Steamroller in the salts.

Did a bit of a review too in my blog, with some pics. Check it out.

Mines the one with cmcd preceding it. I'm not all that hard up to get it as I also have a 58cm Raleigh I can convert to a winter beater. If someone has a more noble fate in mind than a winter beater, I'd let it go to that someone else.

Spinning for sure. I took it down Spedina today to China Town, and I was really spinning, but on the way back up with the wind, I was glad it was geared lower, what with the fat tires and all. I'm looking forward to fixing it. That should be awesome. Anyone else done any fixed MTB?

I was thinking about doing this, lacing some 26" rims to miche hubs..
MTB 26" fixed would kind of be fun.

Gearing it super low for Fixed trials..
