Guess whos still at work. You're right! Kill me now!

2wheelsgood 02-22-07 06:59 PM

my first day as a messenger i wake up to thunder and lightning, all the power in my neighborhood is out, snow falling from the sky shaped like pancakes, a little rain, and some serious wind for the ride home. It was one of the best days of my life! thanks again for the recommendation dan!

TRaffic Jammer: you going to CM? I'll bring the DVD.

Sirrobinofcoxly 02-22-07 07:44 PM

Daaaaamn it's windy out. I just went west on Bloor, and struggled all the way. I do look forward to the ride back, but with the gusts being so unpredictable, and me being a little tipsy, it could be quite the adventure.

2wheelsgood 02-22-07 07:47 PM

this morning would've been good for this

GPS coordinates? I'll call in a cruise missile strike or two. Or if you're feeling lucky tactical nuke would work as well. On that note, resident evil 2 shows Toronto city hall getting destroyed by one.

Hahaha, what a perfect "Day 1"

zippered 02-23-07 06:38 AM

happy fryday everyone... critical mass tonight; i plan to be there!

I_bRAD 02-23-07 08:51 AM

So... who all is racing tomorrow?

I didn't get my tires ready in time, but I'll be there as a spectator :)

TRaffic Jammer 02-23-07 09:01 AM

I found out this morning my wife and I miscommunicated and she is going to be out tomorrow night as well , so I'm not sure if I'll even be going. (I feel weird being out while she's out as well and the kids' are at home...old enough to be by themselves together, but still feel odd...you know?) All is up in the air, and wave 'em like you just don't care.

When we used to be kids there was nothing better than the 'rents being out of the house ... !

TRaffic Jammer 02-23-07 09:52 AM

I hear ya..... am I being a knob? Let the kids have their fun?

I can think of one... out of the house with an expected return time!

i prefered having a set return time so that i could clean up the mess and get the girls out of the house.

not to make you worry TJ

operator 02-23-07 10:13 AM

Or try an unexpected return time if you want to mess with their heads... yes! There are so many practical jokes you can play on unsuspecting kids it boggles the mind.

How old is the oldest?

TRaffic Jammer 02-23-07 10:32 AM

13, She watches her sister after school, so no worries there.

Good to watch over for an in/out mid-day maybe not hours in the evening. We got lucky with a 16 Y/O 1 door down she has two younger siblings so we are good to go when necessary!

jeremywhitehorn 02-23-07 11:38 AM

time is creeping up on me; i just realized that the bike show is next week! i'm off on fridays, so methinks i'll be banging on the trade show doors at 11:59.

thanks for the reminder of the show. I'll be at the doctors at 11:15:mad: but I'll go on saturday to check out the recumbents , cool if I get a nice deal on one:D

TRaffic Jammer 02-23-07 02:10 PM

Oh and Ryan Leech....trials master will be showing off there as well.

SamHouston 02-23-07 02:20 PM

It's next week? Dammit I'll be in Tejas.. I must admit I had no interest til TJ mentioned Ryan Leech, I've watched him at trade shows b4, he's truly awesome & I mean that from an admiration of abilities way not in a 7th grade girl way although I'm sure they'd concur. He came by our booth to look around, super swell guy.

TRaffic Jammer 02-23-07 02:26 PM

...and gosh darn it doesn't he seem to present himself as an awesome ambassador to his sport. Unlike many an X-game pro... A double edged sword that, adrenaline games athletes as marketing tools doesn't always work out.

zippered 02-23-07 03:28 PM

i've been looking forward to the bike show all year, but it turns out that i have to go to a training on the saturday, and since i'm not able to keep my one of my jobs, 13 bucks sounds like a lot to me... so i might be SOL

all i want is new bar tape (and maybe some socks)!

TRaffic Jammer 02-23-07 03:32 PM

Sounds like you NEED a pass. I have just written 'zippered' on the back of one.

Can you write Pyze-guy on 1 of them as well, I am bringing homemade cookies to London for in ride snacks. Peanut Butter tickle your fancy?

jeremywhitehorn 02-23-07 04:00 PM

what about students and the unemployed?

sr20det 02-23-07 04:02 PM

Just ordered some rollers from nashbar using the free shipping coupon.
Also got a fox jersey 100% Merino for $30 US from nashbar as well.

Thats who will be making the cookies, my students who aren't employed.

Also, still not even sure if I can make the show. If there is an extra tix I would use it, otherwise the more worthy deserve them.

operator 02-23-07 04:40 PM

The most ironic thing is that, i'm paying about $10 just for the trip downtown.
