i'm about to go SS ..
I've got a busted rear der cable and am effectively SS as the front shifter is screwed in the cold..it;s old and tired. I'm 42x16-ish. I've got my single cogs to have put on the cassette and keith has a new shimano front ring/spider for me. Looking forward to ditching the gear off the bike. After that will be stiffening the front end.

Similar. I have an old Bianchi Grizzly that's going SS as we speak. Likely around 38:16 for me, the classic 2:1'ish ratio. I seemed to have stripped the fork threads somehow, so I need to get a new fork and it'll be good to go. The winter fixie is still a work in progress. I may have to break down and put MTB cranks on it

It's fixed now, and am riding 42:14, same as when it was s/s. I may drop to 38, but that means switching cranks and chain. And I get lazy sometimes so who knows. I'll see how the first real snow/slush ride goes.

What size fork you need? I have 3 1" threaded I don't need. I could be persuaded to part with one of them.

Nice ride yesterday, nice to meet you all!

I actually ended up on the spit again around midnight last night. Figured I had to get just a few more kms on the road bike before the snow came and I put it away for a while. Glad I did! Looks like the winter storm watch has been upgraded to winter storm/snowfall warning.

yeah, unless it starts dumping early in the evening I don't think doing a snow ride tonight makes much sense.

The alternative of course is to go to mount everest and parabike off the summit.

Tomorrow night sounds hilarious. We will just have to pick a time and place to meet. As long as it's after 8pm, I'm cool. And how about the old CV meet spot? I'm so stoked, you have no idea.

As for my SS MTB, I'm running 32/14 (2.285714285714:1) for dry roads. I may switch to my 32/16 (2:1) if it gets a bit sloppy. It's not terribly fast, but it's gets you places a lot faster than walking...which I have forgotten how to do. I'll bring it on the ride. Hope my wheel doesn't slip. My Tuggnut hasn't arrived yet.

Danhalen: Nice stop in today. I see you were still at the pump when I went home. Drunky!

P.S. Shimbot is new here, but has yet to post. Shout out! What what?

Guilty as charged. Yeah, I tried to stop by after we left and ask you where to meet tomorrow, but then I realized it would probably come up on the forum. Our "lunch" turned into an afternoon of boozing before my friend goes back north (he lives in Moosonee which I probably mispelled). We ran up quite the tab. This has been quite the boozy bike riding weekend.

Speaking of which who wants to make a trip to London? I want to go and do the Track 1 session on a saturday. Duppy I'm pretty sure you wanted to go right? Anyone else? I don't know if we can get a booking as soon as next saturday but I'd be up for that. I might be able to get a car.

From the bottom edge of the fork crown race to the edge of the top of the steerer tube is 14.3 cm. If you have one, it'd be worth a dram of the finest to me.

I have one that is just under 14cm, looks like the one on my bike now, and this one which is 15.25cm.

Holy slip and slide!

I just went out for test roll on the ATB.
I hit black ice @ 1kph.
Wiped out completely.
Bailed like a clown.

Be on the look out for dark asphalt.
It's slippery then a wet noodle in a soapy hand.
Ride safe.
Don't be a fun boy.

Hmmm.... The 14cm one may work but I'd need to check it out. I had a couple spacers on this fork as I recall so it may well fit. Appearance is not important as it's all getting flat blacked.

I've got a 1" threaded.
Not the prettiest thing but.
15cm from crown to top of steer tube.

Yours.
