With cyclocross season rapidly approaching (first series race is in ~2 weeks) I thought it was worth mentioning the Midweek Club's weekly 'cross clinics again. The first one is this coming Tuesday, September 2nd.
Official words from midweekclub.ca:
Scott Doel (who I presume is leading them) says on cyclocrossontario.com:
Official words from midweekclub.ca:
"Weekly cyclocross clinics at Centennial Park’s ski hill (Rathburn and Renforth) starts Tuesday Sept 2 at 6:30 pm. Lasts until ~8 pm. Après ‘cross at Tim’s on Renforth. Ages 8 and older (special program for youth). Use whatever bike you have: ‘cross, mountain or old road bike. Don’t forget helmet and lights (for the ride home). Please invite any mountain bikers you know.
Fee: Midweek members $5, non members $10 per week, please try to bring exact change."

"Cross training starts next Tuesday evening... Bring your runnig shoes, I'm doing a 20 minute bonus round for the first 4 weeks... This will include plyometric, isometric, core and sprint training... plan to stay a little later, it will make you faster..."

I'm heading back to Whitby shortly, hope I can make it back into town for 7... I still plan on going to the ride, but work's been hellishly busy so who only knows.
Came home fairly late last night after some hill training on Eglinton W and dodging the periodically awful road surfaces/rushing-for-the-401-ramp vehicles.
Almost got slammed by a dump truck/trailer combo today, based on what I saw the guy didn't seem too shy of rubbing up to the curbs right the way up Keele. He moved over a bit for his main truck, but seemingly forgot about his trailer, was a touch unnerving. Turd. (Just glad there was a bus lane for me to brake/wait in for him to pass.)
Now I have the fun job of dismantling my bike to fit in a car for a highway trip to the office... Hopefully I'll get away with just the front wheel off.

frames and trips and races, oh my! if im on everyday, nothing happens, the minute I disappear the world upends itself into this forum.
I lied I had a busted knee on monday, and they still think im in a brace so I can make Charlie's ride, youll have to listen to my wiggly fenders though.
bradman, that was some huge packing amigo, did you carry all your food or stop off at townships along the way for restocks? im workiing the latter angle for this falls trip. in addition, anyone have any fender/rack bolts for an italian frame? I presume metric threading, dunno what size. For once I want to mount something correctly...
Wes that trip sounds wicked and that track looks great, you and keith on those sextacular kona 29ers is making me want one. terrible influences.

Walking home, in the rain, with a flat, sucks.
