That woman is sick. She is a danger to society. However considering there are ~20 millions cars on the roads it's still quite safe overall.
On another note:

Well the bike had 50 years of life, and I'm guessing it's an easy repair...

Did I meet anyone here at the intersection of Davenport & Christie tonight, around 8:30PM? Green Bianchi, TT protector, Deep Vs, heart-print underwear?

The bike looked very fresh & clean - likely new. I think the guy was wearing a greenish windbreaker and skinny (of course) black jeans.

So it turns out that bike I found is an absolutely all-original Raleigh Superbe, and it functions perfectly. New headset needed, and a complete hub overhaul, but running nicely, even the chrome shined up all right, and the generator hub generates. I didnt even have to replace the bulbs. Score one for the FC.
Unfortunately, due to the sin that is stripping an all original vintage, still no winter bike.
Anyone up for a long ride this weekend? +, heading to the Cummer skate park thurs, if the weather holds long enough, to destroy a wally-world BMX, if anyones bored enough or actually rides vert.
edit: steeker? kudos. i puff happily in your general direction good sir.

a deep love of garbage day, luck, and a good eye for bikes put out to pasture.
I found the superbe when I moved, in the backyard, and the BMX is from when I was about ten... I destroyed the casette at eleven, Im so proud of young me =D.

Yes, yes I can. And thank you much for letting me borrow it. Now I dunno if its just my washing machine or what, but theres some super stubborn dirt and such in a few places, so I might end up replacing it for you.
Sorry I havent brought it back yet, its been a busy week

good times on the road yesterday and today... passed by the police cordoned Armel Ct. apartments on the way home, wondering WTF was up, then got to Eglinton and saw the backup from the 401. When I finally got home, thestar.com linked those two events for me: the shooting on the 401 and subsequent tuck & roll pushed all the traffic south, to Eglinton, and the involved vehicle wound up at Armel Ct!
Just yesterday, I had to divert my route home near Keele & Eglinton because of the homicide at that bus shelter.
Why does the NW corridor have to be such a classy place?
update: I think my route needs to change

it's funny how the last thing the justice system will do is put someone in jail for bad driving. perhaps we should work to abolish the term "traffic accident" when in fact all collisions are preventable with safe driving habits. i just don't buy the argument that just because you kill someone while behind the wheel you get no punishment for it because of the "whoops" factor. i remember my dad always told me when he was teaching me to drive: "remember you are guiding a 3000lb loaded gun". when you have that perspective drilled into your head it's hard to take driving lightly.
maybe we could draft a letter to the people in this woman's community to let them know what's going on?

So, last night I'm catering in an ampartment in the Windsor Arms Private Residence. Mermorable for 2 reasons.
1. Paris Hilton was staying next door and dropped in for a moment.
2. When I went to get my truck I had to go out the front door. They were maybe 200-300 people outside waiting for the famous people to emerge from the hotel and residence, soooo I paused at the door with my back turned and then whipped open the door and gave a wave and smile to a multitude of flashing cameras and a cheer that quickly tapered off as they crowd realizied that I was not famous. The cop doing crowd control almost lost it he was laughing so hard.
I also kept walking in front of the cameras for the various shows filming/interviewing people for the In Style Party as I was allowed to walk up and down the closed off street. Look for the smiling chef on TV tonight.

I usually just throw on the lycra jobbies under whatever I'm wearing for the padding whenever I know I'm going to be in the saddle for an extended period of time...
