Urbane was making an order from EAI today, I know because I have a couple of things coming. If you contact them ASAP it might not be too late to get in on that.

If anyone's looking for a Cinelli Alter go to Curbside. $30!?

Zippered - The same people must be driving on Queen today.

Last time I was at urbane I bought metal clips for $15 I think. They had a decent selection of price/sizes.

Mitch has a 3TTT stem that is for threaded forks and has a removeable face plate.

Ill Mitch 02-07-07 06:15 PM

Well it's not quite a removable faceplate, it's on a hinge and flips up eliminating the need to slide the handlebar through like most threaded stems.

Most 3TTT threaded stems that I've seen have this feature.

I passed someone riding a fixed gear going east along Dundas just east of Yonge around 5:45ish today.

Anyone here? I was riding a yellow and green singlespeed.

Offhoff 02-07-07 06:55 PM

Mitch is that 3TTT for sale?

Ill Mitch 02-07-07 08:28 PM

nope, it's being used on my Fuji, sorry.

Sirrobinofcoxly 02-07-07 09:00 PM

Everything is for sale, for the right price.

Bidding starts at $100. Do I hear one-hundred?

I've seen a couple of different types of those hinge quill stems; Syncros makes a nice one and I saw it at Urbane a couple of weeks ago.

Which is good to know. I meant to ask about stems like the salsa, hinge quill stems. Glad to know where to look.

jeremywhitehorn 02-08-07 12:46 AM

i love TIG welded Salsa stems. again, i think urbane carries them. i bought one a year or so ago, although it was not removable-face plated.

Yeah, the open faced stem doesn't look quite as sleek but it is so much easier to switch out bars or fiddle with brakes. Cannot imagine why it wasn't thought of earlier.

i like that when you see a photo of a dog riding a bike you're impressed by the rims. the mark of a true cyclist. my dog can do a few cool tricks but ride a bike is not one of them.
