omg.

32flavours 03-05-06 06:59 PM

Holy **** that was hilarious. It kind of reminds me of the skit where they're talking about the guy's brother dying and eating entire heads of lettuce at the same time.

And on that note... Sirrobinofcoxly just chastised me and says we should be talking about bikes.

sweep242 03-05-06 07:01 PM

WOW Hardcore to funny that is a great web site.

somnambulant 03-05-06 07:05 PM

Have you seen the "Lazy Sunday" rap those guys did? It's GENIUS. Unfortunately, NBC sent a nastygram to youtube and made them take it down. Apparently it's available on the NBC website somewhere though.

I first saw their stuff here. This one is completely rediculous, but I love it.

edit: stupid forums and their not-using-real-html.

Sirrobinofcoxly 03-05-06 07:09 PM

What are you guys doing to my precious thread?
Looks like a coked up brain barfed all over the forum.
This is why we can't have nice things.
Now behave or I will turn this thread around. :D

Now I'm off to ride

We're building camaraderie amongst our riding peers. Is that so wrong?! :D

nice pics. i saw that bianchi pista with the funky saddle on my way out; it looks more blue in the pictures. i think it was almost a brownish green in person.

that winterbourne track bike is the ****! i loved the hand stitched leather grips.

did anyone stop by urbane's booth? i loved the bike that Carey put together with the funk moustache bars and the nexus 8 speed hub with the shifter on the quill stem.

TRaffic Jammer 03-06-06 09:31 AM

I scored a pair of socks, that was about it.

sweep242 03-06-06 09:33 AM

By the way thanks for the ticket hook up jammer.I got nada as well but had some fun.
Cheers

fixedude 03-06-06 10:56 AM

flickr is having a rub-n-tug?

eyefloater 03-06-06 11:51 AM

Ya, thanks again for the tickets. I couldn't believe how expensive all the food+drink in there was. $2.60 + tax for a cup of flat pop? No thanks. I had to keep wandering over to the washroom to get my ghetto style on (yay, drinking from a washroom tap).

Best thing I saw at the show had to be the street bmx guys over in the colosseum. That was well worth showing up for. Nothing came home w/ me other than a few Pedal back issues and a Shimano catalogue (M540s = maybe next pedal purchase for me) but it was good to see some uber tech stuff up close and personal.

God I hope that "NO BRAKES" thing on the Bianchi Pista isn't painted on the production models. The legal departments of some companies really get out of control at times.

- eyefloater

PS. Hey weather, warm up so we can go on beer (or Stoli in my case) rides.

somnambulant 03-06-06 12:12 PM

1) I talked to the Bianchi rep and he said the "No brakes" thing is indeed on the production model. I got the "lame marketing" vibe over the "lame legal" vibe though.

2) Take this with a pound of salt, but The Weather Network is saying 14 degrees by the end of the week. :)

TRaffic Jammer 03-06-06 12:16 PM

Hey no problems on the tickets....glad I could get some.

1) Eww. That's just ... oh **** it - it's not like I was planning on buying one, anyway.
2) That brings me immeasurable pleasure.

And now I must stop procrastinating and go shoot some more product shots.

Sirrobinofcoxly 03-06-06 01:08 PM

Rode for 2 1/2 hours last night. My feet and hands were frozen, but it was oh so much fun. Bring on the spring

operator 03-06-06 02:20 PM

The Bianchi Luna was hot.
I didn't get anything from the show. It was a tech vs OMGHOTDEALSBBQ type event anyways.

TRaffic Jammer 03-06-06 03:42 PM

Too many damned MTBs....and I ride one. :p

sr20det 03-06-06 04:17 PM

oh the pista concept.... thats where it went.
I thought someone finally bought it. har har.
i'm totally against the wheelset, alex da22's to miche primatos.

- I'm liking that winterbourne's grips. and did cavern have a booth?

no, but cavern's got a winterbourne!

somnambulant 03-06-06 05:20 PM

So, I brought my wobbly chainring to urbane today afterwork and was told with full embarassment that whomever had built my bike used the wrong length bolts. Lovely! Oh well, at least the guy that fixed it (the super tall skinny guy.. can't remember his name) seemed genuinely embarassed.

And I'm also embarassed that it took me about 4 months riding before I noticed how wobbly the thing was... Just goes to show that the idea of doing a really thorough cleaning of your bike while checking all your bits is A Good Thing (tm).

You're damn right it was. When I was at the Bianchi booth the first time around, I was all like "Oh ya, there's the Pista in that funked up colour and - oh snap, what is that delicious morsel of hot sex over there?"

somnambulant 03-06-06 05:44 PM

no talking about geared carbon bikes in the FG forum. ;)

Weirdly enough I sometimes get the impression people consider it more of a sin to talk about carbon than it is to talk about geared bikes. :P

cavit8 03-06-06 05:46 PM

See, and that does nothing for me. Looks like my Brodie Electro on a diet.

Glad to hear I didn't miss much.

Sirrobinofcoxly 03-06-06 06:35 PM

I would feel bad skidding on that bike.
