anyone doing coffee today? It's a lovely day out there.

ditto for scotch scheduling.. I'm thinking around 8:30 or 9:00 would be when I'd be coming by, personally. But don't let that hold you back! As long as people are still around then feel free to get the party started earlier. :)

Hrm, here is an inventory list from GVH bikes, they sell Viners and I think that the frame this person is selling can be had from them for about 600$USD. So, are the rest of the parts worth 1400$CDN? Hard to say but I think that your friend can do better.

Shiznaz 05-02-07 10:46 AM

Keith doesn't fix bikes outside of the store does he?

cavit8 05-02-07 10:46 AM

No, it's Pauly. I'll nip around the corner and let him know or leave a note on his door.

that's Pauly allright..... there IS ONLY ONE...I guess there is no accounting for taste...eh? I'm married and Pauly has a fan club...go figure.

So this morning I'm pulled over for what I thought was jumpin' the streetcar doors on Queen.
Young officer, tells me I'm supposed to be over to the right more...
(I'm in the passenger wheel marks on the curb lane, passing the cycling cattle on Queen East)

I politely tell him no Sir I will not and proceed to explain to him that I've asked several police including the biking ones as to the laws regarding lane usage and passing and he in fact giving me differing data than they did. I tell him just how dangerous hugging the curb is for everyone and give him the fact I'm going so close to the speed limit as to be a car. 'If the powers that be want a coexistance between cars and bikes, then law enforcement needs to be consistent with it's message, and you're not being consistent' I then give him my information and told him he should check up on his understanding of the law in this regard. He was a little put off by me telling him 'no' at the beginning but it said soooo respectfully he had no choice but to deal with it. I think had he been an old school cop he'd have just hit me with a stick  This one seemd to really take in what I was sayin', because there was no way I was going to allow him to tell me to further endanger myself.

then spill, who makes a better cup?

somnambulant 05-02-07 11:55 AM

Well, I only recently switched to "naked shots" there (because their latte's are so tasty), so I'm not sure if some people are just inconsistent or not. I also have no idea what anyone's name is, so I'll do my best. I just got a pretty lame one from the dark skinned lady. I seem to remember "Audrey" making a good one, but that was a while ago. I've gotten a couple good ones from the sorta hippy-ish girl (amazing one yesterday, actually). And the guy with the butterfly tattoo on his hand has made me a couple of terrible ones. I think that's about it. Any observations from you?

Shiznaz 05-02-07 12:00 PM

I've found the shots much better on ossington than in kensington. I got some real crappy shots pulled by the tattoo guy before.

dark skinned girl has done some nice ones for me, ditto hippy-girl. butterfly-guy has ****ed mine up a couple of times (i seem to remember him overflowing the cup). petite brunette usually working on thursdays is alright but when i order an espresso she puts it in a big mug unless i ask. i don't think audrey has made me one yet...

TRaffic Jammer 05-02-07 12:25 PM

Coffee shots? As I understand it the first quarter...yuck, quarters 2-3....what you want in your cup and the final quarter...yuck as well. Me....will drink all 4 quarters and not notice the diff.

Oh boy, I love advocacy and safety:

Yeah. That ought to work.

Yes, buddy makes some horrific shots. And they're not butterflys on his hands, their deaths head moths a la the silence of the lambs.

I must admit that I haven't taken time to differentiate shot quality from the various and sundry women working there. I'm often too enraptured.

Operator, no pistols. I'll challenge you to an Inuit finger pulling contest.

edit: and that's why I'd rather visit foo than advocacy

Right, moths. That's what I meanted! I actually like those tattoos, but that's besides the point. :)

Also, yes, you speak the truth.
