Teaching your son how to ride a bike. Priceless.

For everything else, there's my bike.

Sweet, will swing by before hitting the bike show.

Fun times at the velodrome today. Small group of us there so we spent about 1 1/2 hours on the bikes. I somehow lucked out the nice supertight crome bike. So nice to ride. Nice 2 inch toe overlap though. Wicked fun hammering through the banks on that track.

Everyone else there was decked out in full lycra head to toe, then Dan, Brayden(SP?) and myself saunter in with hoodies, jeans tucked into socks and shants. The T.O. BF contingent rocked the style police today.

Anyone at the show tomorrow?

Last time BF went, we were all decked out in lycra. Also did you guys get to do track 1 and 2?

Man.. I have been at the show for two days all day long and all I have managed to see was 20 minutes of the BMXing in the CORE park when I snuck away to eat a $9 slice of pizza and a pop, as Keith mentioned. It tasted tasty though

Although I did see some pretty amazing and impressive riding... and some bad crashes. oh jeez, you should have seen this guy bail attempting a front flip.

The first time he tried he almost landed it, under rotated just a tiny bit and landed on the back wheel so the bike just fliped out from under him. He got right back on his bike after that one.

The second time, maybe 5 minutes later, he tried again. This time he just rotated too slowly and he was upside down probably 10-15 feet or so in the air (he is doing this on a ~6ft spine and landing to flat) and just threw his bike out from under... above him and managed to flail his arms enough not to land on his head.

He landed on his feet ****ing hard and then fell over, took him a while to get up then we was limping around, dunno if it was anything serious or not .

Also talking to some guys after the show and they said that some guy literally broke his face, and had to be picked up by an ambulance.

Hey Keith, I saw you in the Cycle Solutions booth for a sec. First I was like, "That's Keith", then I was like, "wait, is that keith?" (I have only seen you a couple times in person) then you were headed out and I was like "yeah that's Keith". Sorry I no say hi, me slow sometimes. I was wearing a blue campy hat, I was a few feet away. You had a blue messenger bag on and it was packed looked like it had a 24 in it lol.

Tomorrow I want to actually look at some stuff. I have to be there at 8 sooo maybe I will get to look around before the crowd.

P.S Does anyone know of a good place downtown to get some inconspicuous earplugs? The noise on the bus (like sitting in a vaccumm cleaner) and subway 3 hours a day is giving me hearing loss.

Not exactly inconsipcuous but https://www.instructables.com/id/E8UBD2SNKXEP2864W9/

You should be able to pick up some flesh coloured ones at a drug store or on campus. You could also get wax plugs at most drugstores, I believe.

In unrelated news, today I took a short spin on a sweet mountain bike with a Rohlhoff 14spd hub. What a cool setup.

Those lightweight wheels are sooo nice, they look organic, I wonder how hard they are to get untrue though, there's no way to get them back into true is there?

Hrm, sounds like the shooting down at King and Dufferin; that place with the green sign, "Gate" something, has been trouble for a long time now. I haven't seen a gun pulled in Toronto since 1994, but I guess I am in the minority.

Pretty close to home! I've never seen a gun pulled in Toronto ever... been here since '97. I don't go out of my way to avoid the "bad" areas either. Perhaps I've been lucky.

yep I saw him ride, wow he has some sweet skills, there were two 2x4 planks of wood set up parallel to one another about 3 feet above the ground and he was bunny hopping back and forth on them while doing 180's and 360's, friggen sweet.
