I am getting it dialled in right now, so there is no handlebar tape yet, just in case I want to move the brifters around a bit.
I have a quick question actually, for the mechanics: I think the chain is too long as I am jumping a couple of gears, can I use the magic link thingy that came with the chain (Ultegra 9-speed) to open the chain and then knock a couple of links off? Or is best to just use the chain-tool anywhere on the chain and use a new magic link thingy? Thanks for any help. http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j1...z/march005.jpg upon closer inspection of the pic...yer chain looks to be too long. With the chain on the big ring and smallest cog a vertical line should pass thru the 2 jockey wheel bolts. |

I next to La Carerra so I popped in to use a wrench and I couldn't get the pedal to thread in straight! Do you think I fawked the threads in the crankarm in that short distance? The ones on the pedal looked fine. grrr! Of course, I was so annoying I just torqued it in there anyway which probably will result in me toasting the threads on my eggbeaters as well, but I was *not* walking/ttc'ing it home.

Do NOT break Shimano chains the regular way. when you break one you have to knock the link pin all the way out and replace it with the appropriate pin. There are master type links that will work. If it is skipping more likely it is a sticky link than the chain being too long.

Masterlink ftw. The shimano chains with the replacement pin idea is just moronic.

Hmm that whole pin thing is kind of news to me. Normally I just push it through the chain tool adjust & push it back in, wiggle & twist to get the stiffness out. Guess I’ve been a bit lucky with it not breaking on me. A black crank would look wicked on there, but looks great none the less what works. Works. @cavit8: h0tt wheels!
Man what a beautiful night. I'm gettin' pretty stoked with this hoody/tshirt only business. Work has been so nuts it's been nice to get a sunny warm ride home. Had to run some foodie errands in the market as well so got to fart around a lil' and take my time getting home. I've just transfered some pics from last night to my machine. I'll post a link later - if my sorry old ass doesn't fall asleep early again. |

I've been hibernating these days getting my butt kicked playing Call of Duty 2. I think we should start a BF Clan and combat these punk-ass kids... |
