Baguettes?? Forgive my ignorance. What do you mean by aero levers? I'm going to use downtube shifters if that's what you mean.

duppy.conqueror 03-25-07 06:23 PM

yo dan...how was the ride? did you get all that stuff you were lookin for?

I_bRAD 03-25-07 06:24 PM

Aero levers = brake cables under the tape instead of the old-school loop over your hands type

Thanks! Me too. God I can't wait to ride this thing. With the warmer weather here I'm really chomping at the bit! I'm still waiting on Malcolm to tap out the bottom bracket threading, rust proof it and polish the chrome. That and I still need some more parts for it as well. So far I have a stem and wheels. Anyone have a lead on some Cinelli 66 Campione Del Mondo bars in either a 40cm or 42cm width?

Keith do you have any idea what stuff you got lying around? If you've got what I'm looking for I'd rather buy it from you.

Oh ok thanks Brad. Yeah I've been debating that actually, except now I know the proper terminology. Yeah I don't know. I'm thinking aero levers would maybe be a bit nicer, in the sense that you don't have cable housings in your face if you want to get low. On the other hand the non-aero levers look kind of cool I think.

The ride was pretty nice actually! I went around the block with Bradyn on his new ride. He was flying! I kind of struck out though. Canadian tire only had black or white electrical tape in individual rolls or a pack of colours of which I only wanted the red and not the yellow, blue and ugly green that also came in the pack. Also, the only washers they had which would work for my seatpost binder bolt have a huge outer diameter and look ridiculous. At least they're for my beater so I'm not too concerned. I got some work pants though which was good. I discovered something today. Bike shorts worn under "work pants" like Dickies type pants is REALLY friggen comfortable for riding! I should have listened to Kasper when he told me that like a month ago!

Sirrobinofcoxly 03-25-07 06:38 PM

wowza. You're a triple threat Dan! :D

Sirrobinofcoxly 03-25-07 06:40 PM

I know you guys are too cool to run brakes, but I have a set of Ultegra brake calipers for sale if anyone needs them. One season of use, excellent shape. Pads still in good shape too (I never stop!)

PM me.

i fully agree, although i just normally wear undies.

i'd love to find padded underwear to wear around town. and i mean padded with a chamois, not padded to give you badunkadonk j-lo boody.

Ya, I would avoid Adidas shoes. Their warranty policy is good but that's not something you want to rely on. I blew up two pairs of Adidas XC Race shoes last season ... 3 dead straps, a dead buckle and a dead knotched plastic strip later I'm keeping them on my feet w/ a couple of old leather toe straps.

This season we're selling Pearl Izumi, Sidi and Shimano shoes ... we'll see how that goes.

Somnambulant's bike is hawt.

random ancedote # 4972378: my first concert in high school was to go see weird al. hi-lar-ious. i think one of my friends was a backup dancer, but i didn't get to go backstage. those videos are pretty classic; it's good to see him still doing his thang.

shapelike 03-25-07 07:56 PM

When I was a kid my sister jumped the line at a Weird Al autograph session and got me a signed poster by saying she was from the Make a Wish Foundation.

you can buy individual colours of electrical tape at an art supply store on the south side of bloor just east of bathurst (i can't remember what it's called). i've got a roll of red that you're free to steal from. i've never checked but active surplus is probably a good bet too.

Midoco?

It's going to be so warm this week! Then again, this is what the Weather Network is telling me, so maybe I should suit up for a blizzard instead.

Offhoff 03-25-07 08:27 PM

Indeed Midoco, active surplus is definitely stocked you could also try Above All, north side of bloor just west of markham st.

Its 10:30 and cool. I need food and I don't want to cook, that is all.

I'm editing and going crazy just look at the amount of music I've listened too today!

STEEKER 03-25-07 08:39 PM

sweet touring set up

Danhalen 03-25-07 08:43 PM

Thanks for the tip about Midoco guys! I'm going to go and get grey and red rolls of tape. Or maybe I'll just steal from yours Colin. I don't need much at all. I'm just going to add some bar tape to my bars and just need enough to finish both sides. Either way muchos Gracias.

Offhoff 03-25-07 08:49 PM

I've gotta get out from in front of screens and get some food. So I'm going for a ride if anyone wants to join. I'm leaving at 23:30 'cause I need to see the result of this render...

STEEKER 03-25-07 09:05 PM

sorry Offhoff I am stuck doing really small rides on the bike , for sure some time in the summer

Offhoff 03-25-07 09:07 PM

I'm not actually expecting anyone to come. Just offering because I'm bored of watching the render progress bar move so slowly...ugh high definition content make the baby jesus cry sometimes.
