The mastercuff at Cavern really got me thinking about hand cuffs and locking bikes. I asked a couple of people who suggested these and I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a pair so we can bundle our order. I wouldn't suggest using them alone to lock a bike but to keep your wheels attached to your frame and using a mini U to lock the frame they might be perfect. They are also hinged instead of using a chain so they are much harder to bypass.

Just a thought.

I'm a glutton for punishment apparently.

dude says 12,000km, 120 days. damn b!

I'd personally be wanting to take at least a day off a week as a rest day too, so that would be like 120km days 6 days a week, regardless of any external or internal conditions.

He plans to be going through mexico and central america starting in mid july as well. BRUTAL HEAT!

wow ruffly 4 months...crazy...thats a serious trek...

somnambulant 03-28-07 02:12 PM

4 months of avg 100km days? Ow my freakin' knees/gooch.

Shiznaz 03-28-07 02:14 PM

I just want to ride with a general idea of where I'm going. If I were him I'd probably budget 6 months for a trip like that... If you miss one day, you're going to have to make up for 100km of lost distance which would be brutal, even spreading it out over a week.

100 km a day average for 120 straight days? That is crazy. Add an extra 30 days and then you can at least stop at the occasional place for some relaxation. He must be a masochist or sumthin.

I can't imagine riding on the roads in Mexico. Whenever I'm there, I keep noticing how crazy they all drive. Hopefully this person's not from Woodbridge. They seem to get shot a lot down there.

Offhoff 03-28-07 03:41 PM

So anyone going to call the ball on a CV tonight?

almost as bad as those "84390583423429054 seconds" warnings. computer time estimates are so ballpark.. i don't pay much attention to them. a good excuse for a break though!

I was unstuffing a file and had to take a screen shot of this, it only said that for a second though.

Shiznaz 03-28-07 04:49 PM
