i'm sure none of his expenses were hidden in other parts of his budget.

Zee Redline. It sits sadly and collects dust all day long.

edit: Opinions on the value of this bike for my friend? (that I vowed I would not look for bikes for but still am anyways):

the skinny:
Aquila 52cm AL with what looks like a steel fork
Shimano Sora group
velocity aerohead low spoke count wheels
1 minor crash with no frame damage
headset shot

Looks like a really good deal Shiznaz. That is if your friend is actually going to ride it. Comes with aerobars too haha!

pics pleeze. I know someone who may be interested. Another note, anyone have a 1" suspension fork lying around? A friend is trying to get a mtb back on the road.

Shiz, that aquila looks like not a bad deal. Inspect the frame carefully for deep scratches that may have damaged the integrity of the frame <-- this from Mike before I bought the pinarello. I know nothing about Aluminum except it has occasionally been linked to Alzheimer's or something... I forget...

Shiznaz 03-09-07 12:09 PM

Yeah I figured the bike was a good deal but wanted to hear it elsewhere. The real question is if he can pony up the cash in time to buy the bike instead of buying more safety consumables.

As long as you aren't the mulleted leather jacketed dude who waits for girls to go to light cigarettes and just jumps in there and does it for them then I think you're fine. :D

I saw a hick in Buffalo wearing a "Show us your tits" t-shirt. He was a pretty classy guy.

iherald 03-09-07 12:20 PM

I'm down with the single speed MTB if it's my size. 20 inch +. Unlikely, but I'm staking my spot in line for it! Thanks for the offer!

tovi 03-09-07 12:23 PM

does anyone have a recommendation of where I can get my distorting speaker fixed? doesn't darkmother do that sort of thing? Darkmother, you around?

Is the driver blown? You can either replace it or have it re-coned. The Speaker Shop on Eglinton West does this for a fairly reasonable price.

ss mtn bike size questions: I assume if 32flav owns it, it's going to be a bmx for any of us. :) (sorry dom)

yeah, totally "blaming the victim"!

i seem to recall someone posting an old photograph from the early 20th century of a toronto street and it shows a streetcar, some carriges and a whole bunch of bikes. the streets in the core were designed for horses first, before there were stop lights and signs. if the design was working so well for cars, why would there *be* the issue of gridlock/rush-hour congestion in the first place??

(as you might say, keith) direct action FTW!

oh and happy fryday, folks

32flavours 03-09-07 12:51 PM

Haw haw haw.

I am small and mighty!

Err, I think it's a 17.5 but I may be mistaken. Pictures will come soonly, assuming that the current owner (not me) has not already managed to unload it.

I actually managed to fire off an e-mail to our "honourable" councillor. I even managed to keep it articulate and sans profanity. I am guessing he has a full e-mail box today. I have mentioned it to every single person that has come thru the door today and the response has been the same from everyone.....WTF! and whats his name again? The safety and advocacy board has this posted as well.
