I typed the last 15 or so posts into babel to find out what you have all been discussing. I can't repeat the translation but it had something to do with goats, goose grease and malt liquor.

That guy Geoff from Bikepirates is a nice guy, but he can talk your head off. At least he's done it to me standing on the street when I had a flu...and it was like -15C outside, taboot.
And now for something completely different: My jaw is on the floor b/c my Dad just bought himself a new Pinarello F3:13, w/10spd Ultegra and Fulcrum 3 wheels. Holy bejeebus. I can't wait till I have my 60th birthday! That's some srious cash dropage. |
Sweet. My dad bought expensive bikes in the past too. But they were BMWs and Ducatis and even more serious cash droppage. Hes a fatty mcsedentary because of it. I wish he'd buy a cool bicycle!

I kind of tried a half assed version of that already but I'll really giver 'er hell and hopefully I can actually test ride the damn bike tonight. Gee whilakers. Oh and the Michelin socks are *****in'. Cheers dudes. |

Don’t know if they are made by phil? But they are nice.again found on flickr. |
Op, I left your wheel at Bikechain after you no showed me (!!!!).
Couple quick words about the Zaurus (I should have known better than to mention it here :-o ). I have a 5500 which I've had for around 2 1/2 years. Newest version is the SL-C3200 http://tinyurl.com/2zso4c. Sharp no longer distributes in North America because the Zaurus didn't make much of an impact and no one was buying them, mostly due to poor software availability relative to Palm's at the time and, IMO, a crappy stock battery. With 64 M flash, even now it still spanks much of the competition. I got it because I wanted something with Linux on it and it still suits my needs. I'm not sure I'd recommend one for a non-geek and I'd definitely recommend an upgraded battery on or a battery pack for extended travel. I've seen 5500's go for as low as $80 CAD on ebay. |
I suspect those brakes are made by Swiss Stop. As far as I know, they only make brake pads, but that logo looks exactly like theirs.
edit: checked the interweb and I'm wrong. Can we erase this from the record, officer? |

I have borrowed a thread tapping kit for the next few weeks from work. Anyone need some threads tapped, let me know. Not one big enough to redo a b/b or crank though. Pedals would be the max size I think.

Shiznaz:
Palm has the super cheap Zire for a bit north of $100. But for that price you might as well just carry around a pocket pad or notebook. Its a real PAIN to write things out without a keyboard. Also the lack of wireless kinda makes it useless. One thing about Palm's is that they use their own proprietery operating system and when you upload it, its all .txt files (if I remember correctly) Also, they haven't come out with a new OS for YEARS! If you don't have wireless, you might as well just write things down on a notepad / journal and when you get to a computer just type it out. Typing is 10000 times faster than trying to get your stinking PDA to recognize what letter your trying to write out. I have an old palm handspring pda black and white screen, used it for a month and it just seems so impractical. You can have it if you want. I find just carrying around a notepad or writing on my hand more effective and less frustrating than a PDA. Oh, I'm currently running a dual booted OSx86 / XP on my Lenovo laptop. And i've got to say OSX kills XP anyday. So much more efficient and everything makes so much more sense! I also try to stay away from XP as much as I can. Lastly, does anyone know where to get a hold of a Look Ergo stem? I want one to get the fit right on my bike. |
HEY!
I'm in Sedona, Arizona stealing internet signals. Rented a sweet mtb for the week: '07 Specialized Epic, Avid Juicy Sevens, XT crank, Sram X-0 shifters and derailleurs, Fox Brain fade rear shock, Fox 100RL fork I believe. Fückin Sick! Ripped some trails today, trails here are sweet. Gonna figure out a way to attach my camera to my helmet and make some sweet videos. :) WEEEE!!! Edit: OS X wins at everything. |
