Also the finish is really lumpy which I have been told is caused by the powder not being heated/melted enough. Furthermore, the sandblaster must have been set too high because the metal inside the tubes (which was not going to be blasted according to Maria) is all pitted instead of smooth! And as if that isn't ****ty enough, there is also a patch on the bottom bracket shell that is bare. As in bare metal. I am so pissed off about this it isn't even funny. Obviously I'm going to call them and complain but I don't want them to touch it so if they offer to fix it it's kind of redundant. Money back would be great but I don't expect that to happen. Ever feel like you've taken something beautiful and turned it into crap? Well I do. I wish I had just sanded the grey and painted some tremclad over there.
I realize other's experiences may have been different but personally I would heartily NOT recommend Jetkote. Damn that sucks man. I had mine done at spectrum. I talked personally with the guy who was going to do the masking/powdercoating and he seemed to understsand exactly what needed to powdered and what didn't. Guess i'll scratch jetkote off the to recommend list now. |
K, so, if Spectrum is the place to go but they don't take care of blasting - does anyone have any recommendations for that?

They blasted + one coat. No clear, although I think they had that option though. Highly recommended. Stuff in my previous posts still stand. Even had them powdercoat my chrome steel fork. Also you only get to use the colours on the wall they have in the front of the office, anything else is extra I believe. Turnaround time was exactly 1 week. P.S On a totally unrelated note, has anyone here taking flying lessons/ground school for a rec/private pilots license? |

<sorrow>
So ... the Tosca's headset was pretty corroded and when it got pulled off the fork crown it took a nice chunk of the steerer tube with it. Now the headset's ****ed and the steerer tube needs the corroded spots filled in. My bike is out of commission for the next while and it's disturbingly upsetting. </sorrow> PS. Crackheads stole half our change and bled all over my George Hincapie poster. ****ers. |

Crackheads I’ve seen a few spare changers but no crackheads in our time living there, but guess times are a changing. Not as bad as the last encounter (stolen bike) so crazy that was. |
It's rampant in the neighbourhood these days. Dude next door at the fish & chips place got his register emptied as well.

i've been scouring craigs list and i found this http://toronto.craigslist.org/bik/365655999.html which is sort of interesting. the no name frame sounds sketchy but its has sugino (75? i cant quite make it out) cranks and a miche rear hub which are nice. mavic MA2's are really cheap though right? i dont think its worth 600 but id like your guys opinions. http://toronto.craigslist.org/bik/374096488.html |
