in relation to the BBQ, we should at some point in the warm future be like a bangladeshi family and gather as many riders as we can to go out to the island or other park with a bag of charcoal and a cooler full of meat for a giant public bbq. Also beer. I've always been jealous of those giant park parties and have on occasion been tempted to mooch some food off of them.
When I used to walk the dog I'd always have to be careful to spot these parties well in advance, because my dog would charge towards them full speed, generally making everyone scatter in a panic, and then he would steal some food and everyone would get so furious at me I swore I was going to be killed! Total vibe killer!
One time he sauntered up behind a little muslim girl with an ice cream cone, who then turned around and shrieked while my dog took off the top of her cone in one messy bite. Mother and father started screaming at me so there were 3 different people screaming at once! I didn't really know what to do so I just pushed 5 bucks at the guy and ran off with the dog! Darn greedy labradors!

i'm a dog person (and my dog is a maniac who now has to be muzzled in public) so i tend to be understanding around other people's disruptive dogs, but i believe that as an owner you have to assume that people don't like your dog in their face, on their picnic bench etc. and so you should take steps to prevent it. at least, in the city anyway. in the country dogs can wander around and generally behave as they like and no one seems to mind. it's great.

As well, I'd be kinda pissed you hadn't controlled your dog in a park. It's called a leash.

This was the top section of riverdale farm, just before it slopes down to the off leash area. It was a block and a half away from my house so thats where 95% of his walks happened. I didn't really mean to open this up for debate, I was just relating it in passing since I was thinking about large park bbqs

hehehe.. I'm listening to music on my ipod and I swear every song that comes on I think "Hey! I love this song!"
Of course, the fact that I'm listening to the playlist "My Top Rated" on shuffle *might* have something to do with it.
I'm not too quick on the uptake today.
also: definitely down for a bbq on the island. I plan on spending many weekends there this Summer... disc-golf-a-rama.
