Ya, thanks again for the tickets. I couldn't believe how expensive all the food+drink in there was. $2.60 + tax for a cup of flat pop? No thanks. I had to keep wandering over to the washroom to get my ghetto style on (yay, drinking from a washroom tap).
Best thing I saw at the show had to be the street bmx guys over in the colosseum. That was well worth showing up for. Nothing came home w/ me other than a few Pedal back issues and a Shimano catalogue (M540s = maybe next pedal purchase for me) but it was good to see some uber tech stuff up close and personal.
God I hope that "NO BRAKES" thing on the Bianchi Pista isn't painted on the production models. The legal departments of some companies really get out of control at times.

PS. Hey weather, warm up so we can go on beer (or Stoli in my case) rides.

1) I talked to the Bianchi rep and he said the "No brakes" thing is indeed on the production model. I got the "lame marketing" vibe over the "lame legal" vibe though.
2) Take this with a pound of salt, but The Weather Network is saying 14 degrees by the end of the week.

2) That brings me immeasurable pleasure.
And now I must stop procrastinating and go shoot some more product shots.

The Bianchi Luna was hot.
I didn't get anything from the show. It was a tech vs OMGHOTDEALSBBQ type event anyways.

So, I brought my wobbly chainring to urbane today afterwork and was told with full embarassment that whomever had built my bike used the wrong length bolts. Lovely! Oh well, at least the guy that fixed it (the super tall skinny guy.. can't remember his name) seemed genuinely embarassed.
And I'm also embarassed that it took me about 4 months riding before I noticed how wobbly the thing was... Just goes to show that the idea of doing a really thorough cleaning of your bike while checking all your bits is A Good Thing (tm).

You're damn right it was. When I was at the Bianchi booth the first time around, I was all like "Oh ya, there's the Pista in that funked up colour and - oh snap, what is that delicious morsel of hot sex over there?"

no talking about geared carbon bikes in the FG forum.
Weirdly enough I sometimes get the impression people consider it more of a sin to talk about carbon than it is to talk about geared bikes.

See, and that does nothing for me. Looks like my Brodie Electro on a diet.
Glad to hear I didn't miss much.

anyone here built a SS? Thinking about singlating my old mountain bike. Any chain tensioner recommendations?

if you want to do it on the cheap you can just use your old derailleur as a tensioner. kind of cludgy but it works. i miss my SS MTB, wish i hadn't sold it. now i'm lusting after a karate monkey for some hot spring dirt action.
BTW - i have an extra set of Time ATACs. kind of a shot in the dark, but would anyone want to trade these for a pair of (used of course) egg beaters?
