Anyone here have a (non-erotic) massage establishment/therapist/etc to recommend?

what kind/style of massage? Preference?

No idea.. just hopefully someone with a more therapeutic/sports bent. I guess asking Dr. Woollam @ Athelete's Care probably wouldn't be the worst idea since they have massage therapy on site.

edit: Plus they have a guy who does massage and acupuncture. My upper-back and shoulders are pretty sore/stiff today (legs feel a little tired, but are good compared to back/shoulders)... a massage would be f'ing awesome. Thankfully (*knock on wood*) my tendinitis hasn't acted up.

I had a dude named Alex who was a former cyclist and knew with very little description on my part exactly where and how to fix all that ailed me. I'm actually in the process of getting another appointment. You can get wicked cheap massage there by students as well but I've not done that.

where's the quickest turnaround at bike shops this time of year? i'm in need of retensioning/truing... my wheels feel rather floppy after hitting all kinds of post-winter potholes in the dark the past few weeks. not to mention they chopped up dundas right outside my apartment.

i think most bike shops are going to be at their busiest right about now. try taking it to a shop where you know someone;i hear keith can be bribed to do quick jobs with beer and snacks.

I second the Keith (@ Cavern Cycle in case you don't know Keith) recommendation. I brought in something on Friday and had it that night, but it was a pretty easy true.

But I also used the line: "Hook a crippled brother up", which you may or may not be able to use.

I know at Curbside we are booking about 2 weeks from now. And that goes up by about 2 days on the weekends. There's no real good answer. We do however do appointments if you bike is in ridable condition. Just bring it the morning of.

This weekend just about killed me. So busy. I'm supposed to be a sales guy, but I was at the bench all day bringing in repairs and tune ups.

I wasn't sure if those were a bike specific thing or not. Just trying to keep my new pedals happier with regular hot beef^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H.. err.. fresh grease injections.

So.... I got hit by a car today. I'm okay. Just a bit scraped and a bruise on my hip. I was making a right turn on a new red and the van was making a left coming the other way, clearing the intersection on the red. I took the corner really freakin' fast and i went just a bit wide and the van was pretty close to the lane. Hence we kind of side-swiped each other.

The driver/passenger were really really nice about it, as was the bike cop who was on scene. The driver said to me "Wow you were going really really fast and then when you went down it looked like you knew what you were doing because you kind of tucked and rolled and seemed to do a good job of minimizing impact!"

I need to get my front wheel trued and I'm going to come see you in a bit Keith just to make sure my bike won't turn into a fine mist the next time I giv'r. The van that hit me is WAY worse off! The side panel has a HUGE man-shaped dent and there's a nice long scratch from my handlebars (some bullhorns I just got off Toby this weekend).
