I just saw three cop cars on College with a guy still straddling his bike in handcuffs. Maybe it's an all out cyclist assault? I'm actually hoping he's a bike thief that was caught in the act.

I wouldn't count on that. These guys were using a run of the mill cordless grinder with a metal cutting wheel and it took all of 2 minutes to hack 3 u-locks off.

Anyone know if you can put panniers on a Specialized Allez Sport? A friend might buy a used one, and wants to be able to do some basic touring if he wants in a few years. That won't be the focus, but it would be nice if he could do it if he wants too.

I don't think they have rack mounts and there will be heel clearance issues, but it could be worked around. A carradice bag under the saddle with some small front panniers and a handlebar bag would probably be the best option come to think of it.

Hrm, that is interesting, that they are cutting old locks off and the detritus left over from the winter ie: abandoned bikes rusting away. I think the City of Toronto Auction is next month down at the Ex, all of those bike end up there.

It's totally shut off your brain and floor it day on College today. I think I used up my whole air horn reservoir just going to kensington and back.:mad:

yeah, you'd think some notes would at least be left first like they usually do for abandoned bikes. Unless it's illegal to leave your lock on there without a bike..:rolleyes:
