Is that like leaving your dining room table in the parking spot in front of the house when you're waiting for the truck?

jeremywhitehorn 04-26-07 02:40 PM

if anyone is thinking of cycling east today don't do it. either i'm really out of shape (which is possible) or there is a wicked head wind out there.

Does anyone remember that Cheers episode where Woody pretended he had fainted and wouldn't move from the ground until Sam pulled up his Corvette?

Yes, good point, you'd think they'd have the good sense to pop their head in and ask you if you owned it.

I am pretty sure those guys cut off my beater-cruiser in November, even though it was only out there with a flat tire for a couple of days. I emailled them and they had no system for knowing where or when their guys were cutting locks/bikes, it really sounded like they just go around the city ad hoc and slice off stuff that looks old.

Best. Bike. Mount. Eva

Back on the road today and that wheel rocks Iherald, thanks.

Shiz: I used to have a Volcano and had to give it up because its too much and too powerful. Plus if you have any safety minded friends they'll never leave.

Now time to warm the toes in the shower if anyone wants to get safe tonight or drink beer and ride bikes PM or call.

PS: Best 14 day forecast yet.

so now I *finally* have the tailwind heading home! suckers!

offhoff, what do you mean too much and too powerful? You don't have to fill the thing right up... The only thing thats stopped me thusfar is the price tag if thats what you mean by too much...

TRaffic Jammer 04-26-07 03:39 PM

There are also pipe versions of the volcano for 80ish.... it's all good.
Too powerful.... *leaves me confused*

That wind was brutal but fun going home.

Shiz my experience was that you lost a lot of the "social" aspect of the safety meeting because people got way way way too screwed up. Yes you get "used" to it but that isn't much better. When I stopped using it and went back to js and pipes I realized that I could actually do stuff while under the influence again. Which I like, as opposed to be, well a zombie.

iherald 04-26-07 03:45 PM

For us straight edge folk, what is the volcano? Just a special bong?

Shiznaz 04-26-07 03:51 PM

its a vapourizer so there is no smoke, and it isn't as hot so not as many active ingredients are incinerated/wasted. It severely reduces the strain on your lungs and is more economical in consumtion. Its pretty much a win-win, except for initial cost, portability and the aspects offhoff mentioned. I think in my case it would be a kind of 30 minutes before bed special, so the social/messed up aspect isn't really an issue.

So because there is no smoke, you only inhale 'the good stuff' and therefore get higher. interesting.

Just to let you all know how much of a nerd I am, I just got a new glue stick and thought to myself "man, this thing is awesome, it's rubs on the glue SOOOO smooth."

Hello, my name is iherald, and I'm a crippled nerd. :)

Shiznaz 04-26-07 03:57 PM

haha funny you mention that. As part of my job I had to stuff about 10,000 envelopes. Licking is not an option, so we would use glue sticks. One brand was great the other was TERRIBLE, so we waited until they restocked the good stuff and took half the sticks. I still have a stockpile in my desk. The other brand was hard, white, wouldn't roll and wouldn't stick. UNACCEPTABLE!

By the end of a stuffing session I could probably climb a plate glass window because my palms were so sticky from the glue.

rubber cement is good for things involving photos because it wont saturate them and you can bet rubber cement erasers to clean up any excess. Spray glue is also great but messy, expensive and probably bad for the environment.

Sold. But not to me. It seems I was next in line, but it was not to be. Crap.

For the shorter riders out there Fetish bikes has a sale on, 15" s/s frame is $99 and the obsession dirt jumpers are $99 as well, savings of $600 and $700. A tad too short for me. Double Crap!
