Oh HELL no. It's raining like an SOB out there. I'm bringing my wobbly wheel and the bike attached to it in to you tomorrow Keith. I think I'll take a nap instead. It's actually raining sideways! I thought it was supposed to be showers today. I didn't know anything about a friggen storm! YIkes

3/32 on 1/8 stuff = no go. 1/8 on 3/32 FTW

Oh man... glad you're not dead. Go team! Do you have any cool bruises? I've got a huge one on my arm that I've been entertaining people with for the last couple days. But seriously. Really glad to hear you're unscathed.

I took the corner really freakin' fast and i went just a bit wide and the van was pretty close to the lane. Hence we kind of side-swiped each other.
The driver/passenger were really really nice about it, as was the bike cop who was on scene. The driver said to me "Wow you were going really really fast and then when you went down it looked like you knew what you were doing because you kind of tucked and rolled and seemed to do a good job of minimizing impact!" I need to get my front wheel trued and I'm going to come see you in a bit Keith just to make sure my bike won't turn into a fine mist the next time I giv'r. The van that hit me is WAY worse off! The side panel has a HUGE man-shaped dent and there's a nice long scratch from my handlebars (some bullhorns I just got off Toby this weekend). |
If I had just jumped into a pool I wouldn't have been anymore wet than I was when I just got home. Not to mention the fact that the wind + rain really really hurt on my sunburned arms. Broken rear fender + leaving raingear at home FTL.
|
I got home and literally as I was standing in my bathroom taking a shower afterwork the thunder started. I was so happy not to be out there. Wind or rain alone Ok together, no thanks.

This weather needs a mood stabilizer.

I could only keep that speed for a second before I had to slow down to avoid heading onto queen at full speed though. :D I'm glad that everyone is okay after their car encounters. |
Man....from can't see across the street to clear in 45 minutes.....talk about having weather as opposed to climate.

ok not quite fixie or SS related but does anyone know when Albion opens for the season? It nice to switch up the riding on the weekend and Albion really is pretty fun. With enough peer pressure I might be convinced to fork out for a proper bike rack so i can load up the car with bikes AND riders this year...

No help for your actual questions, though I can attest that drinking beers before eating food is not the best idea after a day of biking if you want to be sober. |
