Awesome, yeah I just saw a racer for Slipstream-Chipotle mention it in a journal thing on Velonews (http://www.velonews.com/diaries/ride.../12116.0.html). I've heard it mentioned many times but I've never tried it. Bring it to Scotch night! :)

the old mate-scotch combination, eh? nothing a little alcohol and a lot of caffiene can't do!

somnambulant 04-27-07 09:28 AM

hahaha.. indeed! I could go for a little from column A and a little from column B right now, as a matter of fact. This morning is slow going!

somnambulant 04-27-07 09:29 AM

also: grr.. once again I find a cross frame that I like and is affordable and later realize it has 135 spacing. Who the fark wants mountain spacing on a cross bike?? Kinda limits your wheel choices! (especially for campy)

I_bRAD 04-27-07 09:48 AM

You could always re-space the frame, no?

Who all is going to CM tonight?

iherald 04-27-07 09:51 AM

No CM in the rain for me.

The latest one is Scandium. No bendy. :)

No CM in the rain for anyone hopefully! We've been pretty lucky over the past couple few years I've been going. Only rainy day I recall was haloween last year.

i think it's so you can use cheaper MTB hubs. who would ride campy in the dirt? for shame!

operator 04-27-07 10:10 AM

Couldn't you just repsace the hub?

Shiznaz 04-27-07 10:30 AM

I forget what we do in track 2. Is it mostly riding or do we have to stand there shivering in lycra sliding around on cleats?

I did a track 2+3 combo I think so I hope we have the chance to get a bunch of laps in because we probably won't be doing the more fun drills.

I'm planning on going unless the weather gets totally evil. Should be there just after 6 at the meet up.

Why wouldn't I want to ride campy all the time? Then I can share wheelsets/etc (not that I have another campy bike right now, but that's simply a matter of time).

ditto for wheelset sharing and general annoyance of kludgy solutions.

I think track 2 was mostly on the track. It wasn't that different than track 3 except the drills were less cool. :)

*raises hand* Smart people.

somnambulant 04-27-07 12:22 PM

I'm still occasionally tempted to go for that bikesdirect campy record deal and selling off the bits I don't want on craigslist. :D If it was a compact crankset I'd be more interested, however.

ps. Kim used the word "campy" the other day. I was so proud. ;)

iherald 04-27-07 12:23 PM

Campy crankset

Anyone know where to get a power meter? I'd like a Powertap, but I can't imagine spending that money. Nonetheless, it would be nice to know where they can be found.

somnambulant 04-27-07 12:28 PM

I think Cycle Therapy can get them if they don't normally stock them. There's also a powertap pro + cxp33 wheel on canadiancyclist right now for I believe $700.

That is true!

Shiznaz 04-27-07 12:38 PM

I just assume I'm pumping out a steady 400 watts unless I'm sprinting.

iherald 04-27-07 12:41 PM

I was on the cycle-Ops site and under powermeters you see a nice photo of Mr. Landis. I guess that is the key to his success... :)
