Did you buy the all original white and blue benotto from the bike shop next to your house?

32flavours 04-30-07 12:06 PM

Haha no- I have one that is almost identical though, with some newer stuff on it. And an Italian flag paint scheme. How weird that I know exactly which bike you're talking about.

Name ALL 32 flavours.....

I assumed you would know about it because its at the place under your apartment, it would probably fit you, and it sticks out like a sore thumb with its ridiculous early 80's-ness. Harlequin cello tape with matching blue saddle and biopace rings? Why not!

TRaffic Jammer 04-30-07 12:12 PM

also in a 50-ish sizing?

Shiznaz 04-30-07 12:12 PM

the thing is tiny, 52cm tops.

Bugger...

Hehe I think it's a 50 cm, as is the one that I have (which is too big for me). Mine is also less 80's pimp (no biopace or harlequin tape). That shop is weird, have you been in it a lot, Charlie? I think one of the crackheads that frequents the neighbourhood works there.

Its sketchy as all hell. I've popped in a couple times but theres nothing really good in there except the wacky benotto. I'm pretty sure one of those guys is a crackhead, but I've talked to some people in there that seemed somewhat level-headed.

TRaffic Jammer 04-30-07 01:09 PM

Oh...Basso :(

cavit8 04-30-07 01:19 PM

James, check your PMs. I'm downtown for the next hour and a half.

And there's only one 32flavours, TJ.

Yeah, I likely won't be able to make it until 8:30 or 9:00 either. I have a haircut earlier in the evening which usually takes a while (a friend cuts my hair and we usually have a good gab as well :P). I'm still down if that isn't too late though.

I bet "the team" was the last thing on his mind, rather the 100 clauses in his DISCO contract that said they would allowed to skin him alive and own every cent he ever made from anything if he got caught as a member of DISCO. They are shopping for sponsors after all. His action was one of self preservation, not "taking one for the team" Be prepared to never seen him race again.

Of course there is "And there's only one 32flavours, TJ."...wondering if it's all about the ice cream or Ani D? If Ice cream ...name the flavours.

Yes, it was still planned for Thursday. As Keith, Wes, Chris, and Jeremy were the ones who were coming for sure, let me know what you want to do. Thursdays still good for me but I can switch it to Wednesday or whatever.

Nice day in the Don today!

So... been riding those trails for almost 10 years and just this year I was shown the loop on the Ridge NE of the parking lot at thorncliffe park. How long has that loop been there?

Keith- Thanks for the idea on the tire. Crazy glue gel on both sides of the cut like you suggested... and then I followed that by sanding the inside of the tire, putting on a tube patch and clamping it in a C-clamp for a while and it's good as new :) (only today's ride on it so far, but seems to be holding up.)

Is that the shortish loop at the bridge, opposite the path over the train-tracks? That loop made me sad for humanity because of the 23984 tonnes of garbage in the trees near the apartment towers. :(

I think so. Instead of going right to take the river trail back, you go left and follow the river for a bit upstream. Then you climb the ridge and come back across the top/side. It's about 2kms long and pretty fun!

Looks carbon to me

Moving away today - pile of bike parts in front of 738 Euclid Avenue.
Includes tires, tubes, bits and pieces from older bikes, a 59cm steel frame (no fork), a steel fork from a 62 cm bike, etc.
Come take it away so my roommates don't have to look at it!

If there's anything leftover you can always give it to: http://www.bikepirates.com/

It's not me offering it, I just saw it and posted it.

on another note, anyone have any experience with Speedplay pedals? I recently switched to a road pedal, but I'm not getting a lot of float and the last two long rides have meant a sore leg. So I'm considering options of speedplays.

operator 04-30-07 02:33 PM

Look cleats will give you more than you'd ever want. 13 deg for the red ones, which is ridiculous!

TRaffic Jammer 04-30-07 02:38 PM

Kestral, carbon but kinda old....could be a death ride in testing the functional limits of aging carbon.
OR a total SCORE!!
