The fast group came in with a pretty amazing time last year-I think it might be hard for me to hang with that group over such a long distance. They averaged over 32 km/hr, including all stops. I'd like to try this year, but I think I may end up getting dropped. How much did you eat throughout the day? Did you carry food, or stop and eat? |
A few Questions/Comments:
1) do the powdercoaters you speak of require the frame to be stripped? 2) Rancho Relaxo = nasty food. My old band played there once also.. :P First time playing in the GTA = Vans Warped Tour. Second time = Rancho Relaxo. Yay progress! ;) 3) Burrito Boyz is good.. but I'd also love to hit up Sneaky Dee's. That way we can get a table AND beer. Neither of which is available at B-Boyz. |

Strangely ..... I've taken being as ass to hopefully what people will describe when I'm gone as an art form. I've honed my bad attitude to a razor's edge. :p |

I’m down with burrito boys on Saturday. If my wife is not in labor witch is very possible i need to get to the bike shop as well. Cheers |

Wonder what would happen if I took the Bianchi and ran out the door.

I Might be able to come out Saturday... I've taken vacation the march break , so I'll be hangin' with my lovely daughters all next week. Daddy just might find himself havin' a couple wobbly pops. |

I just had one of those "magic" rides home.
Timed every traffic light *perfectly* -- I'm about 5' from crossing the stop-line when it turns green.. cars haven't even started to move yet when I blow past. Dressed perfectly -- not too warm, not too cold. Rode at full tilt the whole way, but didn't get winded/tired at all. Good Times! I just wish I didn't have to ride home to make dinner! :P |

can powdercoating be done on wood? too lazy to research.

If you want to end up w/ powdercoated charcoal I assume it would work just fine.

Completely unrelated tangent, I'll probably be working at the shop this Saturday, but if not I'm down with getting on the bike for awhile and ending up at Sneaky Dee's. - eyefloater |
You should definitely try and make it out on Saturday... Otherwise we're all gonna have to come hassle you at the shop. ;)

Cycle Therapy....that's my shop near my house I was in there lookin' at Lemonds.
they want to see my light up jacket. you work there? |
Unfortunately, I'll again have to bail on Saturday as I'm moving. Once that's done I should be able to get out for beer/coffee/burritos/Blackblack
|

Sr20det, Here's your nifty tidbit of info for the day: Powder coating is a dry finishing process, using finely ground particles of pigment and resin that are generally electrostatically charged and sprayed onto electrically grounded parts. The charged powder particles adhere to the parts and are held there until melted and fused into a smooth coating in a curing oven. Before coating, the parts to be coated are first pretreated similarly to conventional liquid coated parts. The pretreatment process is normally conducted in series with the coating and curing operations. There is essentially two common ways of applying powder coating: by electrostatic spray and by fluidized bed powder coating. There are several other processes that have been developed, but they are far less used. These include flame spraying, spraying with a plasma gun, airless hot spray, and coating by electophoretic deposition. Oh, and you can actually get decals that can withstand the heat of the powder coating process (it's not "insanely" hot ... ~450-400 degrees). That way you could powder coat your frame, apply a decal and clear powder coat over top. - eyefloater Edit: got my coherence on. |
... "Hot Sex on a Platter" instantaneously started playing in my head upon viewing those pics. I want to see a shot of your bike straight on from the height of the "eyeballs" on the fork when it's done. So nice dude, so nice.
Man, that was like a quickie before bed for me. Ya ... I'm off for a smoke now. Mmm. - eyefloater |
