On the matter of hot sex.
This is not. http://www.cyclingnews.com/tech.php?...ws/03-09/20813 This is a weird: http://www.cyclingnews.com/photos/20...ack_tandem.jpg |
Another recommendation for Sneaky Dee's. We went there after the bike show on Saturday night, food was great, prices are good, beer was cold. No entertainment on Saturday night, though (Leafs were on TV but weren't entertaining at all)
Traffic Jammer, I'm 5'9" tall, trying to make a 49cm road bike fit that I just picked up with all Campy stuff on it. . This bike has a long top tube, so I think I can make it work, haven't ridden it enough to be sure yet. Try a longer stem and offset seatpost (ya gotta get the busted one out anyways) |
well that IS good news ...... I was envisioning the funny bike suggestion, think that setup works for ice raing as well? I've got a spike pattern worked out. Now who does flip/flops around here? Now I'm stoked to make it fit.......lol Don't think I ever had a road frame fit perfectly anyway....least not until my birthday....woooohoooo
|
if y'all make it to dee's, someone lift a pint of blonde and eat the 'el traditional' for me. thanks!
traffic jammer> can you twist one for me? thanks! |
Shiz....nice Illuminati bike (eye in the triangle, obscure reference). Only you could ride that giant thing, well you and Jeremy. How tall are you anyway? I was thinkin one of those old style Tri seatposts that curve bakc over the back wheel...as I really don;t like being waay too far past the front hub.
FD...I can. lol |
Recent studies show that MEC Samurai Cycling Pants do *not* keep you dry. :P
So, what do you say we meet someplace at 12:00 (say, for coffee) and go for a bit of a ride and wind up at Sneaky Dee's? I'm teh suck at coming up with routes though, so if anyone else wants to handle that..? Obviously we can just ride "stream of conscience" as well and just go whereever. Which will probably mean downhill and with the wind. ;) |
My studies tell me the mec torrent rain pants do keep you dry but the run off of rain will keep your feet wet!
|
My studies show that staying home with a poor sick daughter allows one to stay perfectly dry.
|
My study said drive today due to hockey playoff game tonight, gotta prioritize the energy!
My FarWest Gore-Tex pants (courtesy of the double vay boutique) keep the legs dry for the commute on days like this, but I think if I had to ride longer than the half hour it takes, I would have to look at something better (and more expensive) |

Wow, that Cyclops is hot, how light is it? And yeah, Sneaks is pretty much the best for burritos and beer, aside from La Hacienda on Queen. I like how dirty Sneaks is and how treacherous it can be....watching the ceiling bounce up and down from the dancers on the second floor gives me an adrenaline/fear rush ;)
|
wow shiz.. sweet cyclops.. sweeter lugs. from high-tech to old school, i'm glad you saw the light! it doesn't look quite as big as your spicer. i'm assuming it fits fine though?
dead or alive, you're coming with me. |
If you're looking for rain pants (you'll need them this weekend) MEC's Cyclone pants are fantastic. The rain will run down your legs and on your shoes, so wear shoe covers too (probably too dorky for you fixie dudes) but that combination has kept me dry and happy on many long tours. Nothing else at that price point comes close, though you can find similarly priced shoe covers w/o all the ugly reflective crap.

I just don't know if those shoe covers will fit over my shoes. |

Ever since the day they asked me and my buddies to leave because we smelled bad (we were coming back from a long ride) I swore I would never set foot in that place again. Did I mention my significant other works at Dees? Gotta love the staff discount. |
Oh.......Not only am I out of stock on Miche hubs right now.....I usually sell em for $150 a pair. $80 a pair is less than wholesale. Grab that $#!t The new ones come with 15mm nuts tho ...so....you know.....the extra $70 is worth it.
|
$80 per PAIR********** that can't be right.... i'm coming up if it is. :D
keithy, i thought 15mm is preferable to 14 cuz it's more common? not that there's any problem finding a 14mm cone wrench.. |

Man....either that place has changed, or you were pretty stinky!:) I spent way too many of my formative years at Sneaky's (shows, doesn't it?) and they never kicked me out, even though they probably should have. One time my buddy and I were drinking there late one night, and he passed out on the table. The waitress still served us one last pitcher of beer for the road. Now that's classy! |

I'm hungry for beer and dirty nachos NOW, damnit.

Is it too much to ask for some sun? I'm digging this 11 degrees business, but really.
