Super glue for road tire nicks

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I've had better luck with Shoe Goo, but you have to let it cure a few days.

I agree about Shoo Goo, since it is flexible when it dries. Superglue can be hard and stiff when it dries, creating sharp points that aren't good for your tires and tubes.

Ignore deep cuts in your tires and they will expand, weakening your tires and causing premature wear.

i've used cyanoacrylate glue to successfully repair snakebite punctures on inner tubes. on the surface of a tire, it doesn't last.

I have used CA (superglue) on a small gash on a rear tire. It did the job. The 1/8" cut was rather deep and just over the crown so it was sure to flex on rotation. Used the tire, a Michelin Krylion 23 for nearly 2 seasons.

I've had the edge of the tread get pulled away from the casing; and I've used generic rubber cement to reattach it, pressed on with a little sandwich bag fill of sand. 24 hours later, it was cured and about 20 miles after that, the remnants of waxpaper from the bag had worn off and everything looked good as new. 500+ miles later, still fine.
