Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Danke, gents. The thing that makes that boat even more impressive is the fact that it sat on the bottom of the lake for more than 50 years and was then restored to that like-new condition.

Sounds like a fun run, Les - how many days will this be spread over?

Done!

207 miles, a new personal best distance.

That was a very interesting experience. The best part was the Mexican paceline.

I plotted out a 750 miler, but can't get away for that many days, and some stretches of that route require permits and combinations for gate locks. Now just a measly 400-ish miles.

I'm giving myself 6.5 days - Issaquah to Camas, the hard way. Still haven't figured out how much paved vs. gravel, but seems pretty gravelly.

Going for a greatly reduced mileage ride so I don't have to rush it. About 400 miles and 27,000' climbing.

Nice trip. Pics!
