Saddles for women
I have searched using the search function but I can not find the thread about choosing a saddle for women. My friend is experiencing some discomfort on longer rides and I'd like to find the threads for her to read that dealt with women's issues with saddles. One thread that I remember from the past had an external link that was to an article about the science of women's saddles.
I hope someone can point me in the right direction.

There's a good thread on stoker saddles for women on the tandem forum. It contains a few links to explanatory websites:

FWIW, my wife rides a Specialized Oura Expert, good for 15 hours.

Can she get to Portland? There is a shop, Gladys Bikes, owned by a woman. They have a "seat library". Pay $25 and "take out" a seat. Put it on your bike and ride. Don't like it? Bring it back and try another. Find one you like, bring back that demo and get a new one.
The entire staff (I believe) are women and they all ride.

OP, just keep looking until you find. As a man I find Terry saddles to be the most comfortable I have ever ridden. I like the Falcon Y. There is also a Falcon X for women. And the aforementioned Butterfly. IIWY, I would contact Terry directly about a trial program either by mail or through a shop they recommend.

The dude is looking for a link to a thread, not saddle or shop recommendations. Reading comprehension is essential.

On the Team Estrogen forums, there are some extensive, detailed discussions about choosing saddles. They are full of technical information about measuring and finding the right fit.
However, I went by trial and error. My LBS has a library type system, where you check out a test saddle, ride it for up to a couple weeks, and decide if you like it. Fizik Donna for me.

One does what one can and hopes that it is helpful. There seems to be plenty of room for a few more 0s and 1s on the internet. I wouldn't get too torn up about a little related, but slightly off target, information.

I bet the first a few posters never even read half of the OP and start typing answers. Not saying whatever provided is not useful, just an observation about how some people don't even read before providing opinions.

Lovely bicycle is written by a woman, and has several saddles under product reviews, worth the read, even if your riding style differs.

Sub for threads.
our local group of cycling women had our own thread and a bunch of us like the road riva saddle for women (specialized) - it's cheap, responsive, comfortable. i'm interested in hearing more thoughts too though.

Good point. An internet thread will have WAY more information than a bike shop about an hour away from the OP's stated location that has tons of experience in the matter. Why ask in person when you can turn it into a 3 day discussion on a forum?
