Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Wheelset choice

Hi, i currently have a wheelset at little less than 2000gr w/o qr, mavic open pro and mavic cxp 33 on joytech hubs. They are ok but i would like to try something lighter.
If i choose to build myself i limit myself to theese options

A)taiwan hubs at 197g , stan's alpha 340 and dt swiss revolution possibly a 20 28 build weight around 1300g
Will cost around 360 €

B)miche box racing at 460g, stans alpha 340 and dt revolution 28 28 builds weight around 1550g will cost 290€

After some research i found mixed impressions on taiwan lightweight hubs and generally they dont recomment them for all season do it all wheelset due to small bearings, on the opposite miche hubs have the reputation of okay hubs and almost bomb proof.
will it be a good investment to go for the miche build?

I have never heard that complaint about Taiwanese hubs. They are very good and very light. The bearings are easy to replace if needed.
