Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bikes: 2012 Schwinn Slicker w/ new frame

9 speed question from a noob

I have a 2012 Schwinn Slicker (this for reference) and it is a single crank with 9 speed in the back. Frame cracked (long story) so am transferring parts to a new frame.

My question is if I were to replace the crank (which I could not find much info on) would I be able to use any single gear fixie/track crank? So long as it is the same BB style or whatever. I am thinking the answer is obviously yes but i've been wrong before. Also, does it matter the teeth amount? Current crank has 46T and I would have to measure the MM size. Any other issues to be aware of?

Thanks all, any answers/input/etc are super appreciated!

A lot of single speed cranks are for 1/8 chains and 9 speed is 3/32 so make sure you get a 3/32 crank
