Steel Endurance - Suggestions

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Great choice for a long ride type of bike in steel especially with a carbon fork.

Ha, ha. The first time I built that bike it was under $2,000. Now, not so much.

Why not just get full carbon. If the fork is going to be carbon. Might as well go full ******. Sorry I'm just thinking out loud. It's been a very bi polar bike search for me.

Raleigh has some steel bikes with a 90s look. Kona and jamis has some steel. Bianchi has a steel. The performance levels all have carbon forks though. Especially if it has ultegra.
Steel frame + Carbon Fork is an excellent combination. You get the aethetics and ride feeling of steel and a big weight saving from the carbon fork.

There's nothing relaxed about smoothie geomety. my 56 has a sub-99cm wheelbase, it's actually a cm or so shorter than my other 56cm race frames. And no relaxed geometry frame has a 73.5° head angle.

are you talking about the ES?

It has a tall headtube for the size. That's relaxed to me
