Is your spreadsheet going to have drop down options and check boxes?

Doug28450 10-14-15 08:33 AM

The MOF will be happy that these wheels are gone.

Didn't we all.

I made some really nice expense reports a couple jobs ago. They had all the bells and whistles. Still couldn't get people to do them correctly...

Club ride was fantastic! We had 8 riders and mostly stayed organized. Beautiful fall day. 100% fun.

Every day should be like today.

datlas 10-14-15 11:08 AM

I see that while away on my ride today the 6' 3" thread got locked. I think it was time.

I only read a few snippets of the thread.

BillyD 10-14-15 12:12 PM

Well, somewhere along the line it jumped track and became a thread about the pros and cons of someone else, a guy who didn't even start the thread.

Talk about hijack . . .

I think if you examine the 6'3" thread closely, you will see it wasn't hijacked by Timtak but rather by his many fans. They took it away from the OP and gave it to Tim. The guy has charisma, that's for sure. He is a thread magnet. Remember where you heard it.

He's a superstar. Most people like him get ridiculed into oblivion, but his good humor and level headed rebuttals seem to draw people in. He's a perfect BF legend.

I think I WILL look him up if I ever do make it to Japan. I'll probably be too slow for him.

Maybe so. But his ideas about bike fit are not accurate for 99.99% of us. It works for him, so more power to him. Actually, less power to him, but you know what I mean.

I absolutely do know what you mean. But that is the attraction, the lovely absurdity of everybody trying to change his mind. Ain't gonna happen no matter how much it should.

Riveting stuff over on the general cycling forum!

This is an excellent and entertaining article about riding a bike around Iceland.

This is totally non-bike-related except that it also kind of is: I went in today and got my left nostril pierced. I have been thinking about it for ten years but kept putting it off because I was worried it would be a problem at work. Well, that was part of why. The other part is that I was worried it would hurt because a girl I used to work with said it was "the worst pain" she'd ever had. (Of course, it turned out that she had had neither broken bones nor natural childbirth but I was still scared.) Facial piercings, especially "conservative" ones, got the corporate blessing back in May so that objection was now moot. And finally, I decided that if the biggest thing preventing me from doing it was a fear of getting hurt then I should just do it because what prevents me from being able to relax and say "Whee" when going downhill fast is also a fear of getting hurt and if I did this one thing I was scared of then who knows what else I would be able to do/enjoy. So, I did a whole lot of research online and asked a million people- including the counter girl at Papa Murphy's- where they got theirs done and decided where I wanted it done and walked in today, filled out the form, talked to the piercer and said "Okay. Let's do this." He marked the spot, I approved it, he said "I'm going to insert the receiving tube and it will be awkward for a minute", I felt him touch the outside of my nose, and the piercing stud was in. I had so much adrenaline built up over ten years and then today that I didn't feel any pain for about fifteen minutes. It stung off and on over the first two hours after I had it done, but I can't believe it was so easy.

Healing up enough to change the jewelry should take about four months although everything I've read says to avoid stress and excessive use of caffeinated drinks in order to help with it and since that's essentially my diet five days a week, it'll be interesting to see if I can cut down on both.

LoP is still saying "I can't imagine why you'd want to do that to yourself" but I met a lady outside a store, told her what I'd done cuz I have no filter, and got a high-five and a lot of questions about who did it, where, and for how much. And she totally got my reasoning behind it hence the high-five. Now I'm curious to see if doing this will carry over and benefit my cycling in the ways I've been hoping.

Wow. What a novel idea for a thread. I'm glad someone finally thought to ask that question and surprised that it took so long.

Could you get a bike related nose ring? Maybe a little cog? Or a teeny bicycle??
