That's a good one for bike racing. Once you get fit enough, it's relatively easy to settle in and just participate.

Talked myself out of the bike. Less than 60 bucks can buy me a rim to rebuild my dyno wheel and outfit the crockett for the time being. When I have some more cash flow, I can experiment with the ultra-utility bike. The crockett just has to be a little bit ugly for a year or so. I have most of the parts to do the MTB deal, but I'd still have to buy tires, cables, and still have to get a rim for the dyno hub.

...also, you can set some sort of CL alert thing to tell you when Stumpjumper comes up over the winter. (I think)
You really don't know. |
Will I be allowed to hang out in the Road Cycling forum anymore once I have taken ownership of my new bike with a decidedly non-asphalt bent or will I be banned to the recreational cyclocross and gravel grinding board?

Good to hear you're feeling better and back in the swing of things. :thumb: |

How many no-name Chinese frames could he have purchased for $2400? |

I can't believe it. I somehow lost 2 pounds in the past week. What person loses weight over Thanksgiving? This guy.

Yeah, pretty much. Going to be a weird early season though. Doing a 2 week training camp / cycling vacation in Majorca in March. Not really prime timing for race season here, but will be good fun with friends from back east.
But I have a good one up my sleeve too. I'm going to Colorado in June. Gonna ride my bike with LAJ. :) |

I may not have mentioned it here. Crashed myself out of a CX race last week. Noob mistake on a dirty downhill with a 90 degree turn at the bottom. Banged my knee and ankle, tweeked some leg muscles. Doesn't bother me much on the road, but cyclocross riding is problematic. Fortunately, it happened at the end of the season. Only missed out on riding a non-race-race; still went and spectated.
Get well. |
